Teldrassil was a legitimate military target

It was a good military target. So was Taurajo, I enjoyed butchering those cows. Their meat was well worth it and the veal? I would say its…to die for.

Camp Taurajo was a village with, what, 50 citizens?

Teldrassil as a whole (not just Darnassus) had well over a thousand.

You’re going to have to try a LOT harder to find some equivalent crime that the Alliance has committed.

The concept of a fair trade implies that it was actually a “equivalent” trade-off, which, by your own argument, it very much wasn’t.

Yeah, a city is a military power base

/Rolls eyes

Ashevnale and Darkshore are where it’s at, but you destroyed those too

aye. destroying it just gives cause for the alliance to throw everything they have at you.

Capturing it would force the alliance into negotiations where the horde has the upper hand.

They’re not dead, they’re just sleeping.

Upside down.

…And inside out.

Those 1000 civilians would of easily turned into 1000 soldiers as the night elves fight a guerrilla war against us. Burning it was the best thing Sylvanas could of done, it saved many horde lives, and eliminated many night elves and caused the night elves and the Alliance to sorta have a rough shift in their relationship, not to mention the Alliance forces are split with all the night elves in darkshore without any other alliance help and the rest of the Alliance attacking the Zandalari capitol without the night elves help.

wut, her original plan of holding Teldrassil captive and using that as a trump card in anything against the Alliance was way more of a good strategy than just destroying it because some Night Elf made fun of you for getting in melee range as a Hunter.

Sorry but that’s a non-argument. You were trying to say that Camp Taurajo equaled Teldrassil, which is simply not the case no matter how you spin it.

A giant vicious albatross to be specific.

The Military Ward of Darnassus was a legitimate military target, as was the port. Casualties in larger Darnassus would be reasonable collateral damage, depending.

An entire tree full of random civilians trying to get their grell and satyr problems under control isn’t, no. That’s genocide and you did the bad. Again.

It was a good target to be captured and held civilians ransom for a deal or something not burnit down and don’t even take it.

Alliance was shipping AZ through there to Eastern Kingdoms. It was the staging point. Of course it’s going to be attacked!

Teldrassil was a fantastic military target… to capture.

There were no soldiers there and the horde had a massive military superiority in the area. Capturing it would have proved as simple as giving the order. Sylvanas could have used every civilian there as a bargaining chip to gain greater benefits for the horde and no alliance leader would have dared attack without risking a massacre.

She would have won the war without firing a shot. Nobody needed to die.

Instead, Sylvanas chose to murder every last man, woman and child in there. She didn’t have to and there was no military necessity, but she chose the slaughter and death of countless innocent lives out of a deluded desire to kill hope.

It was evil and stupid, and now her war machine is getting ground to dust and her only hope for victory rests in the aid of the Old Gods.

It will not be enough.

yikes to this victim blaming.

can’t complain about loads of innocents burning because they were lots of innocents packed into their home.

ooooookay…

illidan is 99% horde my dude. go there.

A thought occurs . . . ignoring civilian casualties for a moment (odds are that numbers extremely high). How many species unique to Teldrassil were wiped out by the attack?

Sylvannas is an emo , she just got triggered by Delaryn and then decided to throw a hissy fit.

We should start calling players who repeat the same pro-Sylvanas jargon Quest Mobs.

“Night Elves deserved to burn!”
“Sylvanas isn’t going anywhere!”

All pre-programmed aggro quotes repeated from Quest Mobs.

Not an anti-hero, pure evil.
Burn her. BURN HER.
