I don’t see it either. History seems to be going faster than usual. Can’t get into details without it spoiling, but it feels like there won’t be much left to deal with other than the jailer after 9.1
I’m also worried about how long it will take for 9.2 and 10.0 to hit… They are so late for 9.1 that I don’t think a lot o f people is working in what comes next
They are two people with an opinion, like any two of the people who post here, and of equal value.
However, in this instance they may not be wrong. With the long delay for the first phase, its quite likely we will get 9.1, possibly 9.1.5 and 9.2 (and maybe even 9.2.5), the .5’s being small stuff, and that will be it.
I personally don’t care if there is a .1, .2. .3 or .17 - as long as each major patch has actual content that makes the game worth playing. As it stands now, the game isn’t worth what I paid for it, but if they end up providing substantial stuff to do in whatever follows, that will make it a bit better.
In short, I wouldn’t be surpised if we dont get a 9.3. That won’t be a disaster if what we do get is fun.
Disagree with this, numbers do too. I have a long list of problems with SL but at least i’m playing the game, that already puts it above BFA.
The issue is that were locked in a drought on a first expansion patch and these are always rough.
Was the case of almost every expansion. I mean how much do you think people would had complained at the beginning of Wrath if we would had been stuck with 8-9 months of Naxx 2.0 (a raid that was cleared 2 days after release), Cata release raids were a buggy mess (dungeons were fun though), MoP first patch was about as bland and uninteresting as what we have now.
Nobody remembers a single expansion based on its first patch.
Sad you feel that way, I actually enjoyed the questing of WoD. Maybe not the best questing experience to date, but it was alright. It was after I finished questing that I got bored.
Its just corporate bs or lawyer talk that people mentioned around here. I actually laughed out loud when I read the end of that IGN article and Ion tried to put a positive spin on everything.
I wouldn’t mind it being 2 major content patches. So long as both 9.1 and 9.2 provide something substantial in terms of content, I don’t see why they can’t just wrap things up in 9.2.
WoD sucked because it lacked content, not necessarily content patches. Shadowlands certainly isn’t my favorite expansion, but I do think there’s quite a bit to enjoy.
I get it, I really do. But nothing tops Mists of Pandaria for me. The whole questline in Jade Forest rings a really loud bell for me, both factions.
…Not to mention the whole Suna Silentstrike questline in Townlong that made me cry.
I don’t know what it is about WOD that I despise so much, and maybe I’m biased for being a Garrosh supporter and hating the way they gutted my warchief in Nagrand but no matter the cost I avoid WOD questing like the plague, even before Chromie Time. Might’ve been the pale orc/spider caves.
Anyways, I really dig Shadowlands. Love the zones (besides Ardenweald), the questing has been fun. I hope 9.1 is a blast, too.
I did enjoy WoD questing, but I totally get what you mean with MoP. What an awesome questing experience for sure.
I also enjoyed Shadowlands questing. Just wish there was more of it. Allegedly, 9.1 is one of the best storytelling patches to date, so I’m excited about that.
I enjoyed WoD’s questing the first time, and MoP holds up better than both, but SL’s is pretty decent. It felt like the middle of Maldraxxus and the beginning of Ardenweald dragged pretty hard, but all of Bastion and Revendreth were delightful.
Nothing tops MoP for me either. Everything about that expansion (well, up to and including 5.2, anyway) was the best the game’s ever been, from questing to raiding to world content to visual design to music to… everything.
But WoD’s quest content was, at least, good enough and flexible enough to make multiple playthroughs on alts a fun experience. Every expansion after that, the questing has been a slog, a box-ticking exercise that plays out like a days-long parody of the “10 of those and 15 of these” MMO cliche.
Yep. They really brought their A game for MoP. I’m guessing the people that made it no longer work at Blizzard, or got pushed aside in favour of quest designers more interested in the stale “faction war” and endless combat for the sake of combat.
I just can’t Maldraxxus. I cannot stand the place, anything about it. It’s like they took the pus and blisters and rotting flesh of the Eastern Plaguelands and dialled it up to 11, then added a tedious parade of “war war war” tropes.
It’s the thought of having to do Maldraxxus again that has me just triggering Threads of Fate on my alts and levelling them disinterestedly if something looks interesting.
