GDKP’s aren’t reliant on RMT. Just like botting and RMT wasn’t reliant on GDKP as you found out when GDKP’s got banned and the botting and RMT remained. You really did try to push that narrative though.
Notice how you won’t respond. It’s almost like you’re just here to troll and have nothing of value to add to the discussion except to take shots at people who prefer GDKP’s when pugging.
This game would not function without an AH, as they found in play testing before launch over two decades ago
Wow development history go read it yourself
Don’t be obtuse, you think thousands of players /yelling in cities is functional gameplay and wouldn’t drive away thousands of players? Don’t be stupid
We have a trade channel. And sorry, when someone makes a sweeping statement like “wow can’t function without the auction house, we learned this in 2002” and then can’t back up their statement, I’m inclined to believe them about as much as I believe anything Blizzard says. Which is to say, very little.
Surely you have a link to something.
I’m not your baby sitter I’ve consumed and read a lot of WoW history and the AH was absolutely deemed crucial as a game system.
It torches your argument so you choose to.be stupid about it
I mean common, do whatever you want but at least don’t lie to yourself.
You kind of have to prove your argument though. You made the statement. I don’t have to prove your argument for you. And the 5 seconds of google searching I did for you only turns up people complaining because the AH doesn’t work properly for whatever reason or people complaining about getting undercut on the AH.
They’re absolutely just acting stupid because any honest person would admit their positions are trash
See, and this is what I’m talking about. You don’t need RMT to GDKP. If anything RMT makes GDKPing worse. It would still be the best pug system if all RMT ceased to exist.
Is the AH a crucial system for the function of the game as it is today?
Yes or no
No? I can farm materials myself and talk to guildies to get things made. That’s quite literally what I’ve done for years.
The AH is convenient. It’s not required.

hahaha assuming?
man you can’t be this dumb! anyone who was within the circle of gdkp’s creators know how badly it is all about real money trades.
and everyone who is/was in staxx and joining gdkp’s Know that every single gdkp live on inviting pure buyers based on how much XXXXXX gold they have.
please stop being hypocrite and stop telling lies.
we all know that no matter what wow system have, a system based on real money trades will be loved by all those gold sellers / gold buyers & this is why the filthy real money traders love gdkp and crying about wanting it back.
Yeah i’m sure people legitimately farm 80k gold for a TOEP in MC. Again, do whatever you want but you’re kidding yourself.
Also ofc getting rid of GDKPs didn’t get rid of botters and RMT, Blizz updating their anti-cheat tech from 2006 is the only thing that might alleviate that.
But at least you don’t NEED to swipe to get geared anymore.

Nobody spends 80k on a TOEP. Stop being delusional.
I’m not interested in what you personally as a player interact with the AH like
I’m asking about the game as a whole
Brother, I was in Staxx in TBC and Wrath, the only requirement was having enough to meet minbid requirements assuming you weren’t getting hard-carried in raids. Stop making up lies. There’s plenty of issues with any system that can be influenced by gold. You don’t have to make up things to suit your narrative.
Anniversary gold is absurdly cheap. A Nelths tear would easily clear 100k

Anniversary is also an exceptional example of what happens with unchecked botting and RMT. So idk how well that works for comparison to a traditional market.
SoD only kept prices down following incursions thanks to all the QoL they added to professions like alch and the real boxes giving end game mats. So it’s also hard to draw normal conclusions from it.
You’re falling for the typical forum tactic where they change subjects, and try to make it about something else to try to distract from the issue at hand.
There’s obviously no defending GDKPs, so he’s trying to make it about the AH, or mail, or whatever nonsense he can come up with. The comparisons have been laughed off the forum. At this point they don’t deserve a response.
So, again, since he can’t defend GDKPs he has to try and shift the narrative.
Anyway, the ban has been great so far. Very effective at reducing RMT. Guilds are flourishing and TBC will be much better than it was the first time in Classic. If only they’d do away with these cursed Megaservers. Or add a couple more.
