TBC Season 1

i think they are too slow on tweaking the classes, we pay monthly for this game so come on

They’ll just cry about warlocks which is understandable. I dont think they’ll enjoy it like they think they will unless they are Rogue/Mage or warlock players. Me personally I will though just because I missed playing SV/MM tree in arenas.

People amped for tbc because they think Slands sucks…did not play TBC

Which expansion are you looking forward to?

Can’t wait to see DK obliterating everything at the launch of wotlk classic.

Didn’t vanilla start on like 1.12 or something? I don’t see why tbc wouldn’t start on 2.4.3 (post ar prep)

would be interesting to see og patch progression i guess tho

Similarly depends if wotlk launches in 3.3.5 or 3.0.5 or w/e. Games gonna be wildly different depending on which patch it is.

Cant wait to do 2s in TBC where each game will lasts 20+mins.

was only available in the ICC patch. So only in s8. S7, coincidentally, is regarded as the most balanced season of wotlk IIRC.

That being siad, most people still didn’t have shadowmourne. It was a long long long grind lol. And you couldn’t just raid whenever you wanted, you had to be on a server with a guild that was ready to clear it and have a spot in the raid in the first place. And then you had to farm until you got enough drops.

This really restricted how many shadowmourne you would see in arena, compared to say, Cataclysm Legendary Daggers that had a similar “ease of acquisition” to shadowmourne, but you could legit clear LFR casually to obtain them iirc.

It’ll be interesting to see how raiding is handled in modern wotlk. I think there will be more shadowmorunes than we saw on live servers but I still don’t think it’ll be “common” to queue into it.

That, and, vsing shadowmorune wasn’t the end of the world. it was just frustrating. Gurthalak in cata was more oppressive than Shadowmourne IMO.

That being said I was 1800 rat in wotlk, so i’d take someone elses word over mine if they’re coming in here being a wotlk veteran and saying smorune is the world ending calamity.

Realistically games will be 2-5 minutes long for most people. the never-ending games will be like melee x rdruid mirrors or SL/SL healer mirrors.

Everyone else will lose either on mana or misplaying fairly quickly.

I expect Arenas to be open for business week 2.

And yes, I’m switching full time to TBC. I’m developing arthritis in my fingers from retail’s button smashing.

TBC was garbage. Enjoy your hour long SL/SL rdruid 2s games and stunherald warriors. No time limit, no invis eyes, no dampening.

Yes prefer it over Shadowlands every single day of the week.

If you play a non-cancer comp, 95% of your games are over within 3 minutes in 2s.
In 3s, someone usually dies in the first 2 minutes. If they don’t, one healer is definitely running on fumes.

Shadowlands arenas are by a large margin more time consuming.

Sadly, we were all so terrible back then that like if you made a focus macro you were a gladiator. Nowadays with all the addons people use… gonna feel just as bad as retail does sometimes I’d gather.

I thought the time limit was 41 minutes? I remember drawing people back in cata to that margin I think…

This is false

The 45 minute time limit wasn’t added until later

No time limit in TBC. A 20 min limit would definitely be on my list of good changes for the game, but people really exaggerate how long arena games last in TBC.

If you play any double DPS comp, trinkets are thrown on the opener and the game is over before they’re back up.

If you play WD, RP, LD or HD, 90% of your games will still be over within 5 minutes. The other 10% is where you get stuck in long games, but they’re usually done within 10-15 minutes. 30+ minutes games are extremely rare.

There’s a very popular private server up right now where you can see games duration.

In its most recent 25 games, the top Ret-Sham team had one game last 22 min and four games last between 7 and 11 min. The other 20 games were 2-4 min games.

In its most recent 25 games, the top RD team had one game last 17 min and three games last between 10 and 12 min. The other 21 games were 2-6 min games.

In its most recent 25 games, the top WD team had one game last 21 min. The other 24 games were 2-7 min games.

Private servers are much different then retail players coming back and min maxing tbc to death far more so then private server players, plus the retail players are much better pvpers at the highest end. So many people will roll rdruid, lock, or double heal warr it’s going to be disgusting

I’m literally queuing right now on a TBC private server
