Hey peeps, I was thinking this for a short while now. Assuming that tbc comes out, when would the arena season kick off? I know at launch you can rush to 70 and jump right into the raids. But when would the season start? Shortly after?
I also suppose that my next question would be would any one here prefer it over retail? If so why? Just curious
Can’t wait to get mad over Rogues and Shamans, but I’d still play it over retail. Blizzard has shown no care at all for retail pvp and is dismissive of complaints, at least in TBC it was already fleshed out in thought and care for all classes.
Back in the day I think season 1 started 2 weeks after expansion release, and since gamers are so much more min-maxy speed levely, I think they would keep the two week barrier and not increase it.
I fully expect to have more fun in TBC arena than Shadowlands arena. Shadowlands is too memey and has many unfun, dampener mechanics or RNG 1 shots.
If Shadowlands had Rated Soloqueue I’d have a reason to keep playing it, but when TBC launches I will 99% quit retail altogether.
It’s questionable if there will be 1-70 servers at launch. There will be 60 to 70 servers as they convert classic servers to TBC. Then they plan to do a fresh Classic servers again. (leaks that have been covered not confirmed)
Depends on the launch it’s been rumored a lot will be avail content wise at launch so if it’s a May release then well May/June season 1.
Of course! Retail is a dumpsterfire SL isn’t a good game it’s an unfinished broken product that isn’t worthy of my time nor money. SL has potential but retail is the same old story every expansion has about 3-6 months of enjoyable gameplay where 1 patch is acceptable… key word acceptable, not good… just acceptable.
Personally I’m tired like many waiting for an acceptable patch in retail to play where it isn’t awful. That isn’t a good business model and the Devs and Blizz team are completely lost on how to give us a great retail expansion.
Where TBC took Vanilla which was rough around the edges and perfected it giving fans the perfect expansion. Game design, the content everything was better. You didn’t mind PvE because you just enjoyed the game, it was a GREAT game!! It wasn’t chorecraft like Retail is with diluted classes and borrowed powers. Can’t wait for my TBC talent tree!!
TBC/Wrath best PvP in this game. Look forward to it greatly but mostly from a BG standpoint because that was the pinnacle of PvP back then when you watched epic PvP montages from Klinda, Taith, Swifty, Reckful, Athene etc…etc…
Your free to your opinion but TBC was the best WoW expansion easily. Wrath was great too in it’s own right but messed several things up. TBC was as close to perfect as you can get.
Most likely not playing tbc. Feral is my main spec, i only like arena only for pvp. From my experience in pserver is no one wants to play with feral everyone believes that this spec is trash, which they’re not wrong it sorta is.
There a lot of issues of being hard stuck in bearform, and doing 0 dmg. Barkskin is only useable outside of form which is pretty useless gcd. We have mana issues.
Most healers would think that innervate would be for them, but that’s not true because feral benefit from it way more.
Just about any comp you can think of for feral, rogue does better.
I also don’t really like doing pve, because i rather focus on getting pvp gear, but unfortunately as a feral in tbc you have to do pve.
I mean TBC had it’s issues… but at least I felt like I could strategize and do some things. Retail pvp feels all like reacting to massive burst lol. I will treasure my first experience with it; mainly because as people have said, players were a lot less min max and there was a lot less information. Today? Yeah be a lot more cc spammers, optimized specs/classes and mace stun bs even at early ratings. I will give it a try, but not going to get my hopes up it will be decent pvp haha. I will say balance wise it was probably best at like season 3 or so. Warlocks got toned down some… melee were not quite unstoppable overlords… There was a time I almost thought WoW could be a semi respectable esport back then. Until it all went to crap around cataclysm/end of lich king lol.
lets be honest, nothing can be more infuriating than killing sl/sl locks and dealing with disc spamming burn. But yeah TBC arena will most likely be something I’d definitely invest a lot of time in if SL doesn’t turn out to be any better than it currently is.
