TBC might not be worth it?

The only good bug is a dead bug.

Would you like to know more?

I just wish they would announce it instead of waiting until shadowlands is released like I’m not buying anymore xpacs from new blizz and if TBC costs extra to play, I’m not paying for that either.

I seriously hope they also slowly add new stuff to the classic experience after phase 6 this is a serious opportunity to create some interesting subplots and redo Hyjal and Uldum with a more classic 40 man set up.

Can’t wait for all these hektik arena playaz to meet 2s resto druids and 5s multiboxers

Pretty much. Of course there’s differences, but BC feels very similar to classic. The design philosophy is almost exactly the same. They just doubled down on worked in classic and scrapped what didn’t turn out the way they wanted. Many aspects of classic are good in theory, but didn’t turn out the way it was Invisioned, like everything about druids lol.

But it’s not an opinion. Some people prefer a 1965 mustang, but a brand new one is objectively better in every way. It’s ok to prefer something that isn’t better made, we literally all have things like this.

That’s surprising to hear but I think I’m actually in the same boat.

I’m happy for those that are digging the legacy lane, but the overall anxiety and expectation and constant gotcha-blizzard-but-no-changes, daily AV whines, complaints about multiboxers, streamer hate, demands about reducing carries, daily resets, crafting mat complaints, to layer or not to layer, Horde racials too OP, mages should be capped or nerfed, X class is broken, tank my way or the highway…

Im sure I missed something.

Or maybe 15 years of all of it finally got old

I still think theyll reconsider TBC. Just a hunch despite all the mobs thinking they are entitled to it. Heck, people are divisive about how to transition (I was, too) before they’ve confirmed it.

Could be less profitable for them than we think. Doubtful, but maybe they will get burned out too and prefer to reboot the whole thing (kaching)

My server population isn’t even high and I see dozens of people in Stormwind at 3:00 am every night. Classic may not be swarmed like it was, but it’s far from ‘over’

TBC is also many people’s ideal version of WoW because of its Classic feel combined with noteworthy balance changes. I wouldn’t be shocked if the TBC launch eclipsed the Classic launch.

I wouldnt say bc is objectively better as it has its flaws as well. Pvp bring still a big one, the addition of resilience and arena as well as the marginalization of battle grounds serves to separate pvp from the much more fluid and connected world while classic does not do that. Classics raid difficulty for a modern player is low but for the average player at the time was more than sufficient, with bc we just saw the complexity curve up as players learned more about the game. Another issue I had with bc is quest hubs. Quest hubs while convenient feel super inorganic. The over optimization of gear also makes itemization less exciting with few items being powerful through multiple raid tiers.
Tbc is the start of the wow teams focus on over designing the game based around what the player base had learned.

It’s okay to have an opinion without feeling the need to qualify it as a fact. Calling TBC or any expansion ‘objectively better’ is merely an opinion. You seem unable to grasp that simple fact, so whatever. I’m not going to argue with someone who insists 2 +2 = 5.

Classic will be paradise for those of us who remain behind - the speed ballers will move on to TBC for the new meta game and the classic world will be there for the rest of us to enjoy.

I’m not saying BC was perfect, it missed the mark on quite a few aspects, but it improved on the vanilla formula in almost every way. Whether or not someone likes those improvements is an entirely different matter, but they are improvements none the less.

To your pvp point the reason we got resilience is because pvp gear was outclassed by raid gear, the best pvp gear should come from pvp. Arenas usurped BG’s for the same exact reason people complain about premades and stuff now. Arenas are a more competitive format than BG’s. I wish RBG’s came with BC. Idk how it took them until cata to add them lol.

And for raids it’s not only about difficulty. MC is a poorly designed raid. Jeff Kaplan slapped it together in a week, and tbh it shows. There’s virtually no mechanics, the flow is pretty bad, it’s just not a well designed raid compared to what we got later. Blizzard didn’t really figure out how to make raids until the end of vanilla, and they just got even better in BC.

After seeing the crap that came out of classic with mages destroying the economy and the world buff meta, I can only hope BC will come out (as long as resto druids and rogues are nerfed for arena)

I think the bigger question is, “At what point does Blizzard consider splitting the sub, to Legacy or Live?”

I don’t think they ever will. Having people subbed to play their prefered expac boosts sub numbers which makes WoW look better to investors.

Have you seen shadowlands??

Looks like trash.

Release TBC now.

What do you mean by “objectively”? Did wow players who quit BC joined “that” survey as well?

I think Blizzard won’t decide about TBC until they see what happens with Shadowlands. Plus the Shadow launch might free up the people to do TBC.

Classic is an issue. Is it the same players? Do players want to transfer? Play both? What?

But the biggest issue is: exactly WHAT version of TBC will attract the most players? Blizzard side-stepped issue 3 with Classic. They said it was a copy, NOT an update and NOT to be continually improved.

Will that work for TBC too? Or are there too many players that WANT an updated 2020 “modern version”?

Well, if they release TBC, all they do is paint themselves into a corner.

…what do they do for ‘after Wrath’? Cata was the start of the Long Decline. - It’s like the Halo: Reach intro Trailer: “From the beginning, you know the end.”

Personally, I think they know this. And will release ‘Cata Classic’…along with paid Classic to Retail transfers. After they bring the beloved aspects of Classic back into Retail (lol, we gettin our auras back, already!). I mean, c’mon $60 to transfer you Scarab-riding, Corrupted Ashbringer-wielding, A’dal’s Hand(yman/woman); all alone in the dark? SOLD!

I do not see Blizzard releasing TBC. All it would do is splinter the Classic community; Classic’s population would have to start dwindling before they consider TBC.

It’s not a matter of opinion. A survey would be subjective. Just look at the changes that were made to BC. They “fixed” nearly every real issue that existed in classic. It’s a better designed game, whether me, you, or anyone else perfers BC or classic is irrelevant.
