We had the same problem and stuck for over an hour finally had to quit
for those needing to get past chest the ONLY way we did it was 4 people got in the rooks and the grunts right in front of rooks to bait the fire cheat and no one else got in any pieces even the king. Then its just rng hoping layne moves up we finally killed him after almost 2 hours of dying to it.
same we tired for 3 hrs and finally gave up

Same bug for Herod Horde, we tried 2 hours and gave up
if youre having trouble with chess pass lead to an alt outside of kara have everyone log off then reset just did it and our actionbars showed up again
Still happening on Mankrik, TBC Classic, tried all the fixes listed here, nothing worked.
