TBC exapansion for WoW classic - is it true?

TBC was the most successful expansion in terms of subscriber growth. Wtf are you smoking?

maybe vanilla is all you want, but it’s going to get boring very quickly…they need to do at least a couple of expansions over the next couple of years…and then, unless they want classic to die, they’re either going to have to rework later expansions, or come out with entirely new content to add…no one is ever going to play the same content over and over and over forever…those of you who have the dream of eternal vanilla are dreaming, you’ll be playing on one server where you’ll know everyone else, because there’ll only be a few hundred of you, after everyone else gets bored and moves on

Yes, yes it does. But Blizzard is notorious for ruining their good ideas (see how long it took them to do classic in the first place, then making changes to it due to whiners on forums).

So they should reset Classic every few years!? GENIUS!

Exactly. TBC and Wrath weren’t just popular because “ppl talk” but because they were actual GOOD expansions that didn’t break the game. They fixed a lot of things that needed fixing…like things people are complaining about on the forums. When Cata came out the numbers finally started to decline and then with Pandaria there was a mass exodus of subscribers. Gamers aren’t all stupid and subscriber numbers generally do reflect the quality of a game.

Yessir. Why don’t they, shocker, make TBC servers and WOTLK servers for people who PREFER those expacs?

so your suggestion is to further fragment the game? and you call me a genius? servers are already depopulating, a few core servers are growing because of it, but the overall population is slowly shrinking already…
hope you like the people you play with on your server, if you get things your way, those will be the only people left to play with, when everyone else moves on to a new game

First of all, it was a compliment, second of all what overall population is shrinking? Show me the data!

sorry if i was over sensitive.
i can’t find any current data either way. the last numbers i can find are from last year…blizz doesn’t seem to like sharing those numbers if they aren’t to their liking.
i’m making an assumption. i hear people in chat coming to Westfall every day, saying that they’re coming from dead servers where they can’t get a group…can’t get a raid…i know that’s not any kind of official statement, but it seems obvious that there are too many servers for the current population when i hear that kind of talk pretty much every day. had several people join our guild tell me the same thing, came from a dead server, happy to find one with people to play with…

Good thing you’ll have to choice to remain in Classic into perpetuity! So no harm for you!

Subscribe growth goes to Vanilla.

Estimated at 250k subs by blizzard at launch.
Grew to over 6 million

Tbc grew to about 8 to 10 million
Lost 3 million subs gained 5 to 7 million.

Wrath grew 12 million.

TBC was an after effect from vanilla and it was a good game.

Wrath continued the process.

The commercials were not out to the majority of the public till wrath.
Mostly everything was by word of mouth and magazines.

We can wait till TBC classic to say I told you so. It’s a ok game but not vanilla. I know I will stay classic till something better comes. If blizzard made ppl go TBC I would see the end of WoW or close to. I give an average of 1m will go tbc.
I would ask blizzard to have players transfer to TBC not copy.

TBC had issues as in the catch-up, removal of attunements, making prior raids/expansions meaningless, start removal rpg elements.

Wrath start gutting more.

By Cata ppl had enough subs started to fall and hoped blizzard would restore the game once more. Come mop subs kept going down.

By WoD blizzard removed sub count.

Ppl believe mmo rpg were dead but that’s only an excuse. When classic release the sub tripled and blizzard profits doubled.

So, retail estimate 2 to 4 million subs.
Classic estimate 4 to 8 million on release.
Twitch number one spot viewed streamed game? You guessed it classic wow.

I feel like it will drop a bit and grow some.

Please make separate tbc servers so I can play classic at the same time. That would make me very happy.

Subs are subs. Dividing the player base isn’t blizzards concern. Revenue is.

Lol that’s not how this works. The growth rate from vanilla and throughout all of TBC remained the same. There wasn’t a noticeable change in sub growth rate until WOTLK which drastically changed the game. Your claim that “TBC was an after effect from vanilla” has no factual basis.

Mother should I build the wall?

Speak for yourself, I’d rather have TBC than vanilla any day of the week. I play this because it’s all we have.

TBC is what vanilla should have been tbh. Vanilla was an unfinished game, with terrible class design, lacking in end-game content, with no real pvp system. Classic/vanilla is about the journey. Which is great, and I enjoy it for what it is. TBC is about both though, with far better end-game content, and a great PvP system in arenas, thus eliminating the need to solely play BGs.

To answer OP: No. Nothing has been said except it’s not ruled out.

Elywnn Forest. I make alts and only have 1 quest at a time in my quest box to make it last lol.

Oh you own shares? When they were 3.97 per share? No? Did you get reports?

Fluctuations happened but the positive out shined the negative.

You wouldn’t notice as much or care.

Oh wait nvm that was other op you were writing to. Lol nvm

Tbc
Arena : became a main focus should only have been a side thing type entertainment. Could have been better done mix with rpg elements. Like bets and more ranks like classic.

Raid: lower to 25 man but were fun. Later were nerfed into nothing. Attunements removal.

Catchup gear: replace t5 and some t6

Removal of old content
Center storyline driven/ meaning the old content became worthless.

The world felt smaller the more TBC went on as in Azeroth.

Beginning of difficulty types. It would have been better implemented if by players actions cause the dungeon to scale higher by story. Loot change slightly.

Were things in it that was good? Yea
At what cost to the rpg elements and removal of core aspects?

I can go on. How is a green replacing a epic.

I need some of whatever this guys smoking lmao.
