TBC Classic on June 1st...where is 9.1?

Torghast is crap. I only do torghast if I absolutely have to. I’d rather a zone like timeless isle or tanaan jungle where I can farm all day and work towards mounts/toys/etc

Shadowlands released on November 23rd.

Castle Nathria opened on December 8th.

Even if both were done, they would not push both 9.1 and tbc at the same time, the numbers would compete with each other.

You act as if tbc going live is taking away anything from 9.1. its not. they are different dev teams.

so that just ruins OP’s point even more. my point stands

They launched shadowlands in retail and the Naxx patch in classic a week apart.

Agreed TBC isn’t taking away from retail.

Who says it has priority? One’s ready for release, the other is not. That’s it. They aren’t even the same dev teams.

Anybody care to comment on how Legion would have gone if Emerald Nightmare were the entire first tier? How about BFA if Uldir was the entire first tier? How about MoP if Mogu’shan Vaults was the entire first tier?

Would that have been a good time?

Ion told Preach that the release of one would influence the release of the other.

That doesn’t mean one has priority over the other, it just means they won’t come out at the same time.

A better comparison would be if Nighthold was the entire first tier, without EN or ToV. I think it would have been fine since it was the headline raid for that tier anyway.

Uldir WAS the entire first tier.

There is no indication at this point that Shadowlands won’t still have 4 raid tiers like Legion and BFA.

CN is also 10 bosses, and the hardest entry raid ever. Compared to EN being 7, Uldir being 8, and MSV being 6. And all MUCH easier.

It’s not on life support.
TBC is done, the little group just gets it up and working which is different than a new content patch that needs time FROM HOME to do, and test.

Two different teams, two different scenerios. Stop being so dramatic.

It’s been on life support since the vanilla beta lol.

Im guessing they want to finish raid testing for Sanctum prior. As of today, they are on Kelthuzad and Eye of the Jailer. Kelthuzad is the second to last boss – meaning that Sylvanas will be next week.

I wouldnt be surprised to say 9.1 is probably going to be out prior to TBC Classic.

BFA’s first entire tier was Uldir…

I’m going to assume that there are two different teams one for Classic and one for retail. The Classic team is working on a game that has already been developed. That’s different than releasing new content.

Seems so.

Uldir was the entire first tier. Legion literally had 3 raids as the same tier.

Based on normal 6-8 week PTR lengths, them being a bit slower due to working from home, it being a massive patch, and it going on the PTR on April 13th (just over 3 weeks ago) has me guessing a June 15th release date (a 9 week PTR) or June 22nd (10 week PTR).

That would put CN as a 6.5 month raid. Maybe a month too long, but maybe can help better pace the expansion.

6.5 is way too long. They need to hover between 4 - 5. Extending past 5 may be way too iffy.
