Is it worth it to boost a toon and play. Are the que times good and is the ladder active
Queue times are good, a little longer for 2s in my experience.
Do your research on what class/comp/bracket before you boost.

3s ladder above 2k is like minimum 70% rmps and multi minute queues into the same handful of teams
3s/5s deflated, glad cutoffs there are 2153 and 2059 respectively. this is a fresh launch and arguably has the highest activity before natural dropoff season over season. definitely concerned about ladder health in the next seasons
2s is clearly the most active with a 2320 glad cutoff and almost 2600 r1 cutoff
when you’re not fighting rmps you’ll be facing r1 boosters a ridiculous amount of the time, most of them are legit doing self-plays 12 hours+ a day deleting and restoring their characters to reset their rating/mmr.

Isnt there a CD on this? and why do that if you can just reset ur MMR with gold.
The rating reset doesn’t reset mmr and can only be done once a week, deleting and restoring the char resets the mmr though

it’s great if you want a casual experience playing at 1500-1700 anything above that is dead because of accelerated phases and the current mmr algo being the same one they used in cata so it’s pretty chopped which is why 90% of players in 2s/3s are below 1600.
Unfortunate cost of a game coded by Grok instead of a human it just recycles code crazy.
Also with accelerated schedule you literally don’t have enough time to get fully geared by next phase, you’re stuck in the awkward boat of you can get half your gear by saving points till offseason and buying it on sale (which we still don’t know the length of because blizzard announcement has 0 info on anything) but you’ll still be playing catch up next season.
If you can’t play every single week of the expansion right now don’t bother trying to arena on that toon. A friend of mine had a 3 week vacation missed the first few lockouts, he’s a great player playing at 1900-2k in 5s and even with the boosted points etc etc etc he’s going to be get his gear just in time for nobody to be playing because we announced season 2 you have 5 weeks to prep points for buying gear on the hopefully 1 week off season (if blizzard do a 2 week offseason on a 12 week ladder will be actually braindead)
