I was doing the Shartuul event when suddenly I got kicked out on Shartuul. I did not die from damage. I was on layer 4, and suddenly another layer looked like it collapsed into mine.
So, another player was now doing Shartuul on my layer, and my event was canceled. Out in the corner my Shartuul and demon lady were frozen in the corner as this other player did their event.
Ticket number: US109625073 is about this issue. You can check the in game logs from 6/17/2026 around 1 am server.
Would it be possible for me to get a refund on my darkrune? Was a definite kill. I died suddenly because I guess two of those ladies cannot be on the same layer.
I had almost the exact same issue:
- Doing Shartuul, got him to 41% as normal
- I was also on layer 4, but that didnt change (layers 1-5 before, 1-5 after this)
- Casting a fireball with chaos strike up, 10x flame buffet and the shadow form health steal ability on keybind 2
- Kicked out of controlling the Shivan assassin and watched a new felguard degrader start partolling while Shartuul and the Shivan were frozen.
- Fel eye stalks still around, Shivan permanently casting, Shartuul standing there
I waited to see if Shartuul would eventually die/bug out and let me loot but instead watched the new person get to the Shivan phase and immediately it went back to a fresh Fel degrader. I assume that second player also lost their darkrune.
Submitted ticket US109797969 and was told to come to the forums if I wanted a replacement darkrune:

We should be refunded our darkrune. This is Blizzard’s error.

Fixing this problem would only stop future dark runes from being wasted and wouldn’t refund any dark runes that have already been used? Or am I missing something
Same thing happened to me I get layered doing the event and iIt kicks me out of the event
The GMs are telling me it would be unfair if they could give me my refund since there are people who had the same bug and did not report it. I don’t understand how the developers could even know who was impacted by the bug without researching every individual case with GMs. So, only people who reported the issue would get a refund in the first place.
You have to report this as far as I can tell to distinguish between a situation where the darkrune was lost from layering versus legitimately losing the encounter. Honestly, this response sounds like it’s coming from AI. It doesn’t make much sense.
That’s because the person (or the program) that was responding didn’t actually have the specific knowledge about the game and was just spitting out some canned response to try and get the ticket closed
