You ever notice how Blizzard at no point put race restrictions on professions? Anyone, even the most tree hugging dirty hippy races like cows and stargazer elves, can be an engineer. Of course, I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, because again, cultural exposure and surely some tauren might look at what a goblin puts together and think “Hey that’s pretty neat I want to learn how to do that and make a better elevator, with guard rails this time!”
Edit: I just realized that learning safety procedure from the average goblin might not be the wisest idea. Perhaps the lowest rung grunts might find it important enough though, when they’re the ones endangered by it.
