To be fair, thanks to Star Trek, many young people grew up thinking Russians look like Beatles. So it could be worse.
Chronic High Crisco!
That aside, an issue with the Draenei is that they are already a particular off shoot of a wider race. The Eredar are a race that has been divide up by ethos many times - we have the Manari, the Draenei, the Lightforged, the Draenor Broken, the Argus Broken.
The Rangari were always fun whenever they made appearances. They showed a different side of the Draenei.
I always wanted their outfits. Although I’m not sure how well they would work with Top Hats.
Although as far as headwear goes this would be the ultimate for you.

Draenei had two expansions worth of stories in WoD and legion. If anyone is reducing them to “slavic accents lol” its literally only you.
It’s weird that they even make the dragon who looks like a Tauren act this way. It’s like they forgot he’s actually a dragon. They do the same thing with Chromie.
Why does this ancient thousand year old creature act like a whimsical teenager? Just because she has a gnome visage and gnomes act like that I guess.
Yes, we’re also shown an AU timeline in which Alextrasza is a Murloc
Look, I’m not saying he shouldn’t have displayed hostility, but he should have done so in a way that’s still decently consistent with how he’s been portrayed since Cataclysm, or else I can’t be expected to take him seriously
Even after Taurajo and the massacre of the Stonespire tribe by the Bael’dun Dwarves, Baine never held any grudge against the Alliance, going as far as banishing the Tauren who wanted to seek retribution for Taurajo in Tides of War and getting chummy with the Alliance leadership. That’s how forgiving and “reasonable” he is. So yes, I do think that him turning into a frenzied meat grinder at the sight of Centaur that he knows aren’t related to the ones in Kalimdor is out of character.
(Especially since I’d have expected the Tauren to have their relations with some of the Kalimdor Centaur “normalized” to some extent over the recent years, if only through the Cenarion Circle https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Khan_Leh%27Prah)
How unreasonably distrustful he was towards Tomul throughout the entirety of the questline also felt really off
Anyway this thread was just me getting bitter over Ebyssian’s incredibly generic and underwhelming DF writing lol so I’ll stop making a fuss about it
Baine has no W’s so far and that is great. Nobody in the Horde community would be proud of that loser.
Wow, you’re right. They are the biggest narrative black holes I’ve seen in WoW outside Sylvanas, the Jailer and Illidan.
(The story wasn’t repeatedly retconned to prop up Anduin, even Thrall wasn’t shilled as much as Illidan and Sylvanas).
I have to say - while it was cathartic, and downright fun, to see Baine splattering centaurs, it was just SO far from Baine who sat shellshocked on a stoop against the wall in Oribos for the entire expansion that it felt awkward.
Yay Baine, but also … really, Baine?
Ebyssian is as much a dragon as Worf is a Klingon. He was pretty much raised as a Tauren.
ebonhorn is a dreadlord playing the long game
I guess that’s fair. I still don’t get why Chromie acts so immaturely though, especially when she didn’t use to act like that in Vanilla.
For the same reason that Spock throws a smile in “The Cage”.
The character really did not get that much development until Wrath.
If they want to give Tauren a favor, spark a rebellion to dispose of Baine and make Magatha the leader. That would make them interesting and give them an edge over their former characerization.
I’m not sure she got development in Wrath either. She’s been a static character. Her personality just changed from being more serious and mysterious as you’d expect a guardian of time dragon to be to being a whacky bubbly fairy type character.
Hey, you got on twitter!
Baine failed to save Bovan. That fact can not be neglected. He is the worst leader through and through.
