So… even if you’re not an alt, you can go to Nazjatar, do the quests there for a couple of days, and have more than enough for a full set of 385 gear where NONE OF IT is corrupted and will make the cape quest chain a walk in the part.
However, if you ARE an alt, mail a full set of benthic over and do the quest.
Quest chain also gives I believe two 430 pieces to boot.
Our Experts in GD tend to commonly believe if "I like it everyone likes it , If I hate it everyone agrees with me and it should be purged "
Another famous GD quote " Facts are not facts if I don’t like them and if you said something I don’t like you are troll , REPORTED "
Reduction in pages actually hurts players more than it helps them, because it cuts down the number of runs and mementos you collect along the way, and that will ultimately affect how long it takes to reach Gift of the Titans, and/or fully max the research tree if you’re looking to move onto the xmog/mount or the socket upgrade.
But to answer your question, they reduced the largest requirements. 13-15 used to take 4, then 6, then 8 pages. They reduced that to only 2 pages each. That is a significant reduction in number of runs required. That is a streamline, it’s just not a complete streamline of all the levels, which for some reason is what players expected.

Must be easy to suggest we get new items, huh?
So I had to do 4 runs to level my cloak from level 8 to level 10. If you think I would run all 4 areas at level 8 you must be on something.

Do you not have Elite Extermination yet? That’s really all you need for a full clear. Then it’s just knowing which potions to take, when to pull to maximize EE buff or sanity orbs, and optimal routes.
Mechanically though, EE is all you need for a full clear.
You shouldn’t need a specific trait to make the 1 run per level. Just have the chest drop 2 pages problem solved.

You should actually, because that’s how it was designed. This wasn’t designed so you could progress without picking up deeper tiers of the research. It’s a natural progression.
You’re making me believe that this change was to only facilitate the players that know what to choose and not the players who don’t. Also the quest doesn’t tell you to go into the deeper areas till rank 12 I think so how is a new player gonna know that. I also know that you can go into whatever area you want regardless of your rank. But what do I know.

I said deeper tiers of research, like the Elite Extermination ability you said shouldn’t be needed for a full clear.
This change was made to lower the total number of runs required to upgrade the cloak. As of yesterday’s changes, a brand new player could theoretically run 14 full clear visions, and achieve rank 15. Because no matter how many pages you need, 1 full run will now grant you the core necessary to upgrade the cloak.
The quest text, the quest tracker, all that might still say 2/6 or 3/8 pages, but if you run a full clear, you’ll get the core for the upgrade. That’s what the change has done. So in a way yes, it does facilitate players who know what to do, because those players will be able to do a full clear as soon as they unlock Elite Extermination, which in a natural progression of mementos and abilities learned, should happen around rank 8 at the earliest.
Players who “don’t know what to do” can read any of the easily available guides (see wowhead or other fan sites) that teach players about using the potions, killing the NPCs that grant 10% effect bonuses, and optimal paths to take along the HV.
How is it fair that someone can have 30k saved up and immediately buy 6 9% masteries while I can only afford a single one assuming you even had your conquest cap since they literally announced it the night before. I’d have loved to be able to buy 6 9% masteries on my druid with the 30k I would have had saved to push m+. This is just straight up not fair dude. That’s not something that’s just irrelevant next week.

Reducing the number of pages (zones) needed to rank up looks good on paper, but for many leveling up the cloak is gated by the research tree, so (for many, not all) this change won’t really effectively reduce the number of runs needed, especially before rank 10 or so.
It might even lead to more frustration as players who are no where near ready to do so will try full clears/more zones and fail, potentially wasting their Vessel.
Not sure if this is a “huge” issue, but I think it’s noteworthy. Would be nice if research costs were reduced, or, if you want to increase playing time, adding more sources of Corrupted Mementos to allow that research tree to fill up quicker. I understand making Vessels purchasable with Echoes technically increases number of Mementos one can earn, but many players will reasonably conclude that their Echoes are better spent on Essences/corruptions than more Vessels when they’re already struggling in the Visions.
If you spent less time complaining and all of 2 seconds playing the game you would quickly realize that farming 2-3 of these before friday is entirely possible.
I started this week with a little over 400 and after doing all the weekly stuff, raid and M+ I am nearly at 9000. Farming visions and +9’s is a pretty damn good source of these.
I feel as though they should lower the momentos need for research down by half and make vessels cost 5000. Cause at the end of the day once you’re at rank 15 the cost on those things don’t matter at all.
This implementation of the corruption vendor using echoes IS trash, why lock characters from earning echoes when you are going to implement the same currency that is now required to buy the most sought after enchants(corruptions) in the game. This is blatantly unfair and punishing the player base that put in the effort to grind out their essences, and now these players are punished for doing so. It is not a damn catch-up mechanic, there will be by and large many players with end-game gear/ilvl that has never ever had certain corruptions drop such as infinite stars/gushing wound etc. If you can’t implement a system that is fair to all players from the get go, then this system should not have gone live in the first place. It’s already bad enough, dealing with the overtly RNG based mechanics of azerite purchases and weekly chests, this was something a lot of players were looking forward to, only to be disappointed by being left behind when some have 30k echoes, and others who put in the hard yard have zero (yes, that includes me)
Thanks Blozzerd

Still waiting on some type of response to the myriad feedback provided regarding progressed characters that were locked out of gaining Echoes for months. Attempting to sweep it under the rug and pretend we should be fine with starting from scratch isn’t cool.

Yo blizzard having trouble finding the vendor. Sort of like the pvp vendor.
Please remove from game. K thanks

Are you in direct competition with that person?
Why would you not let people with pvp gear participate in this? The corruptions can’t be applied to that gear.
