Tanks - This Needs to Be Said

yawn.
I can burn a half decent fart and tank in this game.
Try keeping the DPS players alive when uber tank pulls 6 rooms and cant hold aggro, lmao

funny how they give you million reasons to blame everyone else because they want to pull the entire dungeon while others wait, then tank dies and “it’s the healer’s fault, not healing”

I had a quest in one of the Legion dungeons on Argus, if memory serves.
I figured maybe someone else would have the quest and we’d just do the side boss.
Nope.
I wouldnt even ask if we could do it because the tank was clearly hopped up on speedballz, lol…racing so fast theres no way he’d have let me do that side quest.

After it was over, I started running back just to get an idea where the boss was at, but I noticed on my Farmhud that another player was following me who had evidently stuck around.
We started talking and I told him I was going to see if I could MAYBE figure out how to get the quest done.
He actually helped out and it was frikking close, but got it done.
Thats the kind of players that make me feel like maybe there is some hope for this game.

Put the ones that like to grandstand on perma block and add the good guys to the friends list.

You don’t even do dungeons like that, so from what perspective are you speaking from?

Funny how it’s a bunch of lowbie alts who seem to not understand how threat works.

Us high end players don’t have problems because we know not to hit things the tank tickled a bit so they would follow him.

If i join the group and someone is pulling aggro then it’s their fault 100% of the time. If a party member is too fkin stupid to realize a mass pull is incoming and cant wait to blow their little dps load on the first target i throw a glaive a thats on them. Letting that person die is the best part of these dungeons. My 2nd favorite part is watching braindead range players realise that i will not help them with the 6 casters thats still shooting at them cause they wont get out of the doorway and help LoS. takes longer but you gotta train these donkeys early.

Am I even talking about hit or not hit things? I’m talking about tanks pulling while others wait then tank dies because they pulled more than they can handle and blame others

They lie and say its about time saved.
its not.
Its about Details!"
Period.
They ALL do it to see how high they can get that idiotic number on Details.
There is no other reason to risk a wipe that would COST time instead of saving it.

See the fun part about how threat works, Is the threat tables don’t move if you don’t do anything, So if you don’t touch it, And you aren’t healing then you wont rip threat unless the tank dies, Soooo yeah no you’ve got it wrong there mate, I am correct.

Since I can only count on the fingers of one hand the times that happened vs how many times Tanks manage just fine to aggro everything, I can’t say that’s really an issue.

Don’t be overzealous for your gear level and the content you’re doing.

It’s a wonder that people don’t understand threat mechanics in 2023 in WoW when they’ve been so well documented.

  1. Unavoidable AoE. I see tanks do this, especially in the new Uldaman, they pull EVERYTHING but disregard the fact that the mobs are casting unavoidable AoE that overwhelms the healer. Or a stackable debuff that overwhelms the healer.

  2. Holding aggro. See tanks do this too. They run by and think their one autoattack is enough. Then there are mobs all over the place attacking everyone. It’s a nice little :poop: show.

  3. Going fast enough to slow the group down. Had tanks pull bosses before everyone’s in the room, shutting people out of the room, actually slowing the entire run down by either making us fight short handed or causing a wipe.

  4. And just being overly aggressive. Sometimes you’re just not going to survive that pull.

Something I learned is that sometimes slowing down a little bit is actually faster than going OMGOGOGOGOGO and then not paying attention to what’s going on and causing blunders.

LMAO.
“dont heal that DPS player while we’re heading to the next boss even if he is at 28% health from the last mobs I chain pulled”

Sorry guy. I heal when I need to heal.
And youre a bad tank if you aint watching your teams health bars.

this entire thread is talking about LFG heroics im fairly sure. NOONE cares about anything but getting it done fast.

Why are you healing a dps player that’s in no danger of dying ?

As long as the dps player doesn’t touch the mob, doesn’t matter how much health he has, he’s not going to take damage.

Being a good healer involves knowing when it’s safe to wait on heals. Stop worrying about filling health bars, start worrying about having health bars at a level that’s good enough for the next damage event.

but but but…healers are gods dont ya know. Healers dont have CDs and max output like everyone else. Didnt you get that memo ?

LMAO

that’s just not true. certain spells will cast on whatever is in a mobs LoS regardless of threat. This includes chasing a tank through a dungeon.

That’s a positioning issue. In academy for instance, tree room. The tank waits for the flies to pass then zooms through the room to grab everything - dps and healers should be a ways behind him so that exact thing doesn’t happen.

Most people who say “unavoidable AoE!” usually mean “AoE people fail to avoid”.

There’s very little actual unavoidable AoE in dungeons.
