So does a Holy Paladin and a Resto Shaman (not a sword obv).
They’re no higher survivability than a healer with a shield. In fact Preg wears some leather gear as their bis which counters some of the armor gain they get from the shield.
Pregs are very squishy just like Ret Paladins., they just heal a lot.
Arms is better in every conceivable way than Protection in PvP other than CC, what are you crying about?
I think Preg just isn’t as great as actual Prot. It’s good, it has it’s comps but just isn’t quite the top tier that Prot is. The best tanks are full Prot. That I’ve seen at least since there are several Prot’s at 3.2k+
You offer less as Preg, you don’t have the damage/tankiness, have more counters, have to play with Dps.
Fully geared Prot Pal will out damage Warriors and just about everyone else in Arena. There is a good Sham/Prot Youtube channel and seen them farming Dekel and other Rank 1’s.
This is just not true. Prot Pal will do more burst and sustained damage. They also offer way more utility. Dispel, 2 sacs, BoP, Auras.
Prot War actually has more burst this phase as well. Their dispel on SS is also painful for a lot of healers with their tool kit and double silence.
One of the reasons PvP in Wrath is sooo good is because Tanks are great in PvP. All 3 Class roles are in an amazing spot. You can play so many comps.
You are nuts with those claims, I’ve played both at a high level with BiS gear and unfortunately it doesn’t have enough to be a top contender in the ladders. You’re just going off of what you believe on paper.
These aren’t claims, they are facts. I’ve seen Rank 1 matches and Prot Pal out damages Arms all day and has more utility in the comps.
How is 3.2k + not top contender?

This thread isn’t talking about only warriors though. It’s talking about Tanks and Prot Pal is a Tank.
With that said. Prot War’s have arguably the highest burst in the game in this phase. They also offer a lot of utility and their constant dispel’s of buffs/hots/shields with their silences/stuns. Can be brutal.
However you should get best of both worlds and play Man Cleave - Prot Warrior/Arms/Hpal.
Now back to your original claim. No Arms isn’t better in every way. That is just factually false.
PS - A geared Blood DK will also wreck. People forget how good they can be too as Tank.
Theres a catch tho a Prot warrior geared for burst is a squish pile.
It’s pretty easy to notice my response was only regarding warriors, and did you really link a video of 2v2? Prot Pal/Resto Sham is literally the only true viable comp they have other than maybe Moonkin, and regardless its 2v2. In regards to warriors just because they can hit 10k with shield slam doesn’t mean they have the highest burst, the amount of globals it takes to get to that point is laughable and easily avoidable. This isn’t 2013 anymore. Prot Warrior CCs are a joke cause it just puts everything on DR and in order to avoid it you just can’t cast the abilities till the DR is up. It is glaringly obvious you never have actually competed at a high level with the specs and are going off of youtube vids with clickbait titles going for views.
If you ignore them they have massive rage issues to.

Stop making this thread about 1 Tank. With that said they hit way harder than 10k. Their shockwave/shield slam will start to top out at 18-20k. Then 25k on low resil. All I will say as lets not derail the thread.

Blood isnt a tank. DK’s in wrath were designed to do both, they were an experiment in Wrath to see if allowing people to play whatever spec they wanted if the tank pool would increase (it didnt) and if it did then they would look into allowing other specs to tank as well like fury, arms and ret. All 3 dk specs can fill either role and Unholy arguably is able to heal just as much as Blood if they go into blood to get rune tap.
