at what point should a tank have enchants on their gear?
same with having potions and food buffs.
seems like one would dump a lot of enchants on ever changing gear.

All the time? What are the costs of full enchants? 10,000g? You get 2000g a day just from the Daily Calling. I made like 60,000g leveling 50-60 by herb/mining and selling the stuff (plus free experience!). If you’re really hard up for gold then you have to make some hard choices, but the game throws gold at you now. You should not be scrimping.
If you’re not fully enchanted, flasking, food-buffing and using oils / stones by +10 then you’re doing a disservice to your group probably. In a +2 I guess it doesn’t matter.
Ever changing gear? I’ve had the same gear for over a week and a half. That is really more of a BFA concern with loot being scarce right now. Enchants should always be on gear once its 184 imho. Should always have food also. Like, am I playing a different game or something?
I run a heroic or two before I run anything above 7 for the rune. Less than that and I use the permanent run from Legion. I use my daily calling to pay for the flask. Since I’m alchemy I just make my own oil.
Fully gemed, flasked, fooded, oiled, enchanted up helps alot with runs. May keep you alive so you don’t lose your food buff. I thought most ppl did these things if they were looking to push keys?
if im making a thread on the forum asking a question for the general public then i would think those who respond can assume i do not know what im doing when it comes to mythic dungeon running.
so perhaps you could rewrite your response to maybe something like.
"Enchants should always be on gear once its 184 imho. Should always have food also.

Well for mythic dungeon running always bring your best. Food, enchants, blah blah blah. If not you’re literally slowing down the group wasting other ppl’s time. That should be understood when playing in an environment where your pre-dungeon effort directly effects 20% of the entire dungeon performance.
As soon as you start pushing keys IMO.
If you want to make that +2 a +5 then do it.
Don’t bother for normal mythics/etc.
Jesus I’d kill for full enchants to only be 10k
They are only about 10k really less. About 1500 for wep and gloves, chest and ring is about 500 per so 4500-5000 so far last one norm runs about 1000.
If there running more than that your not on a large realm that is a issue with your realm you pay for to get the advantage of small realms that are really going away via accross server areas. But that also means you make a ton more money by doing exactly the same the sellers charging more are by selling mats for more so it’s about the same end result. Hell really more in your favor as farming is much better gold per hour but enchants still are a one time thing per gear set. Consumables thou are where the money is made.
well eventually the upgrades start slowing down because not every key is the biggest key you’ve ever done anymore.
as a raider, i show up with stuff enchanted and if i loot stuff before next raid i enchant it too.
as M+ it should be similar, if the last item was good enough to enchant, its upgrade is good enough.
Nope, last I checked even on Wyrmrest Accord the +15 agility boot enchant by itself is over 10k gold
Wyrmrest server pop 5500, illidan server pop 25000. Pre talking faction inbalance where illidan is almost entirely horde wyrm is more balanced further showing the size diff.
Ya that kinda falls under exactly what I just said your not on a large pop server. As such you pay for that. But you get the advantage of much much better gold per hour farming as such you in the end win out not those paying for cheap enchants.
Gold should never be a problem, just buy a token.
Many players play on a fixed budget buying a token is not a good or even valid solution when talking about the costs of things for the everyday player. It might be a valid solution for you but not for the mass.
Uhhhh wyrmrest accord population is just under 42k, where are you getting your data from?
Wow progress. There is no realm at 42k pop. Illidan is the largest realm at 25k. These are numbers of a unique toons not lvl 1 bank Alts.
I’d say, at the point when you notice the healer going OOM a lot, the DPS pulling threat, or you dying to encounters. But, it never hurts to buff up at any point. And, you can buy cheap enchants very easily.
Enchant your gear when you’re at a point where upgrades are not gonna come as frequently. Don’t enchant normal gear, you’re gonna replace it in a few hours.
Wait until you get some M0 gear and start there. Once you get around that item level, upgrades are gonna be harder to get.
Try wowrealmpopulation. WoW progress isn’t accurate for raw population size
or download “looking for sachels” and tank a heroic 5man for 3k gold in 20 minutes.
