meta is my very last oh crap I have nothing. FB+spike on 1st, demo+spike on 2nd, meta on third, trinket+spike on 4th and pray we dont get a 5th

So the first two should be orange, they hurt but spikes should be enough. The third she gains a jade debuff that puts the healing debuff on you. Ideally you want to pool souls for that, potentially use SB to pull them in after having used a major defensive. If you use your major defensives early on the orange ones youāre probably going to die. But donāt feel bad about using a FD mini-meta or full meta in the jade phase⦠your healer is struggling and your goal is to buy them time to burn that debuff off of you and help as much as you can via consuming souls. Your goal in jade phase is literally just survive until she goes to P3.
Oh Iām talking about the jade buff. I dont care anything before or after that. The 70-30% is the only real scary part of that boss
Tanks āout heal healersā through mitigation and absorbs. This is by design by Blizz.
If tanks werenāt able to heal enough then they would fall over dead most pullsā¦see bear problems as an example.
This is partially from Blizzās decision to up the damage output of mobs and in turn having to ramp up healing and mitigation to offset that adjustment. I personally think tuning in that way is pretty dimwitted, but itās their gameā¦we just play it.
As for the first comment about out healing healers. Itās not legitimate āhealingā as most times itās not going to anyone outside of the tank themselves. Check the meters on the dps to see how their mitigation shows as healing as well. The difference is, in most scenarios the dps are not getting slammed for 100k at a time by enemies and having to survive that.
I still wish theyād balance tanks against each other better, but tabks DO NOT need balanced against other roles. Unless they refigure the damage delt/recieved across the board.

are you losing alot as a prot pally to spec into spellwarding?
I just donāt understand why at 1300 io op even cares abouts itā¦the game isnāt balanced around low keys where nothing does damage.
When I was learning how to do M+ at no point did I feel the need to hop on GD and give my half baked opinions as I lacked the experience or knowledge to make a proper suggestion.
If tanks are too overpowered scale up the difficulty?
Dumb question by someone that plays VDH and not PPal: do you not have any spare holy power for word of glory? Because any of the debuff you could burn off would help the healer stabilize you.
yea generally you want to WoG right after it hit you. SotR will last long enough into the hit that you can save HoPo for WoG
Also the biggest mistakes Iāve seen tanks do is engage her right after the circle disappear. You can always stand there and wait. Give your healer a couple more seconds to heal you

How much of the rest of the group did the tank heal?
Again point me the timed run where a tankās damage is even close to what equally geared dps are doing above a 15. Healing at least is different within keys anyway. Itās entirely possible a tank will do more healing than a healer in a given run just cause the scaling isnāt high enough for there to be enough group damage going out.
As for what youāre describing with damage mitigation over healing, no oneās saying not to do that including myself. That is not what the op was suggesting tho
It feels like op and yourself are considering that balancing should be done around the damage that well overgeared players would be doing in a 2 or a 3. Yea if we only considered that then tanks are completely busted killing things before dps can even use their cds. With respect, I donāt feel like you get it at all
how? through an aura to generate big passive threat and much increased passive mitigation? through more yell/shout aoe taunt spells and more mitigation spells?
The former leads to a class that becomes too easy to play and that no one will want to play. Less tanks. And the latter leads to pretty big spell bloat. Those are just two ideas I had. What ideas do you have to actually implement this adjustment

Not a bad idea. I hadnāt considered it. Generally though yes. In my tanky tank build, everything I have comes up as essential either for threat gen through damage or just spells needed to unlock certain paths.
Keep in mind itās only that fourth one thatās sketch. Everything starts to come back off cd 5th one onwards.
I mean if I 3 chested all 4 of my +2ās Iāve done so far everything will seem OP.
These back seat drivers are to be expected I mean everyone at the soccer stadium seems to think they can dictate how the pros do it since theyāve kicked a ball once in their childhood.
Oh I also use/save LoH for one of them. Usually the one with the lightest defensives used!
yea because thatāll give you a 4th defensive. AD 1st, Warding 2nd, Kings 3rd, Bubble 4th
I bank it for it yes. Itās absolutely vital to imo because thereās only so many healers that can instantly top off
