Taloc Mace Nerf

If that weapon was always meant to be a transmog item, then why did it warforge for some people? Has anyone ever heard of a transmog item warforging? What would even be the point of it doing that?

I dont know but it wasnt on beta a tmog item

They must have changed their minds, this does seem a bit dubious. Granted on wowhead its listed as a tmog item for live, but in beta it wasnt.

On the plus side, you guys must rock that you made it past 3 bosses with a lamed tank!

Maybe, maybe not. Weapons don't seem to mean much this expansion. We have a rogue pulling only marginally worse parses wearing Warglaives. Further explains why 120s were being demolished by 115s the first week.

I was trying to make that poster cheer up a bit however that is kinda interesting. It makes me feel a little better about my low ilvl weapons. Plus I learned that rogues can equip warglaives which is awesome bc I am playing Horde side getting cool warglaives but my DH is Alliance and not being played so no transmogged glaives. Sweet!

Thank you Hammerator, I have noticed you being a voice of reason on other threads too. Keeps me a little nicer. :)

People are stupid, the sarcasm is pretty obvious.

Its not stupidity. Its just that some people don't indulge in sarcasm so they don't recognize it very well.
Seems like a better solution would have been to replace the item with an item of the same ilvl but different look and name. That or just shrugged and let people use the weapon. I mean its not like its the most interesting or special looking weapon out there.

Not sure why they think dropping transmog weapons is even a good idea for a brand new raid where people are starving for new weapons.

Its a "solution" that forces players to proactively go to twitter or the forums to find out what even happened, go to another site OR put in a ticket to "resolve". Its why if Amazon ships a higher value item they dont ask for it back after and they certainly wouldnt expect me to package it up and bring it to the post office myself as a resolution.

No it doesn't force you to go anywhere. You look at your toon and say, "Hey my weapon has a lower ilvl now. I should put in a ticket!"
I just want to understand the thought process here. As others have stated, it made sense in legion because we had artifact weapons. But whats the purpose in designating a weapon for transmg only in bfa? It doesnt make sense??
Unfinished game that was not ready to go live.

Buggy.

Re-balancing specs like feral with massive number tuning changes after it already went live.

Re-balancing artifact traits with massive number changes, after already going live.

Massively changing the item level of items after people already acquired them. Not just as described in this thread, but there was a huge issue where lowbie players were getting like 180+ ilvl items and steamrolling other lowbies in PvP (as low as the level 20 bracket).

Massively nerfing our ability to group effectively for world content via addons just before the game launches.

Still have not updated the group finder to even acknowledge the existence of two different modes that can't interact with eachother. Probably trying to justify this by claiming indicating what mode we're in manually is a form of socialization.

Summoning stones outside of instances frequently leading to the first two people arriving from different modes having to wait for another when they easily could have moved the summoning stones into the instances so mode was irrelevant to helping summon as likely suggested in beta.

Beta quality game run by the B team. They were not prepared. At all.
One of my guildies wasted a bonus roll on that boss specifically to get that weapon... cause it was in the loot tables in the dungeon guide... and was the only one of the two weapons available to his class that had haste on it... this was not a well thought out change
I've been playing since DAY 1. Release day...

This is the first time I've ever been disappointed with the way that Blizz handled something. They make mistakes and they're not perfect. But I've always given them the benefit of the doubt.

There is no excuse for this. At least let the day 1 people have their weapon. At least give us a week with it before the nerf so we can finish our raids and have time to run mythics for a new weapon.

Not ninja nerf it to the ground and shock everyone who received it. Terrible decision.

Y'all still paying $15/month to be beta testers?

When does your sub run out because if you are posting here you have one.

In 3 days.
just give them a ilvl 350 weapon or something an apologize thats all it really takes
Isn't the hammer the exact model of the weapon just a different color? I dont even understand why the weapon mog is even there to begin with.

Even the name is the same except one ends in Guardian the other is corrupted.
$100 says this guy doesn't quit over this

Yeah I dont get why the mog is even there. They've done a few things of these. Garrosh shoulders (which I have <3), and a few in legion, namely the sword. They are fairly unique models you can't get elsewhere.

The mog item makes no sense to be there unless they weren't handing out a usable one.

To troll players.
I dislike how they handled this situation as well. It makes people feel bad myself included.
If this happened to you much sympathy.

This should not have happened. Yes bugs happen. I am not sure what a mog hammer was even doing on the loot table. The ly could have reitemized it at 340 or simply removed it from future drops.

What the did does not look or smell good.

This is a bandaid for someting that not one was completely and 100% Blizzard's fault, but also doesnt make sense in the first place. Why would you have a transmog weapon with no stats drop from a raid boss when there is no precident for it whatsoever?

First off, I agree this whole situation is stupid and for Blizzard to just revert the ilvl change and give people the weapon.

That said, there is precedent. Legion introduced this with items from Maiden of Vigilance, Aggramar, and Argus with a 1H hammer, 2H sword, and 2h polearm respectively. Granted, the items were appropriate ilvls for the difficulty even if cosmetic. The only reason they were not used is because of Legion Artifact Weapons.
Mistakes happen when you rush a product and don't thoroughly test it whilst it being approved by delusional Dev leaders.

They should of given you guys something because that was a silly mistake. It ruins the experience of some players. Others don't care cause they'll give a pass for blizzard on everything since they obviously admitted fault so I guess that's good customer service for a gaming company....
