So the idea that something like dragonspine trophy off gruul is still in the game even though you will never ever wear it again makes it allright?
Yes. It’s a trinket. I still have 2 trinkets equipped. Trinkets are still a current system.
Again :
I don’t know why this is so hard for you to accept.
But the gear itself is worthless. If I kept soul rot but it did 0 damage and was purely cosmetic I’d consider it as good as deleted from the game
You’re the one who is focusing on playing a game of meaning rather than accepting the substance of the mechanics changing from expansion to expansion regardless of what it’s called.
You don’t get to define what borrowed power is, I can play that game too.
The point of this post is to critique the idea of borrowed power, so it really doesn’t matter what you and other people who I’m critiquing think it is. I am telling you the reality of WoW and how it does not line up with your surface level complaints based on what UI presents a certain set of augmentations to your character.
That’s your definition. You also don’t get to dictate what the community thinks something is lol.
Nope. The Community’s. You’ve been told by multiple people in this thread that you’re wrong.
You want to argue against the talent system ? Do so. But the community agrees : it’s not Borrowed Power.
The community is the law apparently to you, and that’s a completely arbitrary definition.
Once dragonflight comes out I’m changing my gear, even my set bonus will literally go inactive which means it temporarily had use. I had to grind for it like I grinded any kind of ap, but you seem to think because the armor slot existed since 2004 that’s okay for some reason, when it’s what you wear in it that counts not the fact that it exists.
If blizzard deleted the belt slot in dragonflight, would the belt slot have been borrowed power for 17 years?
Again, you don’t get too dictate with the community thinks. The community consists of millions of people, most of whom aren’t on this forum.
Your bad faith arguments and appeal to an authority that you don’t speak for aren’t proving anything.
The fact that you have to talent into an interrupt is SO terrible… People who don’t use their interrupts are bad enough as it is, now making it a choice of whether or not to have it at all is a terrible decision on Blizzard’s part. ![]()
How is it borrowed power and when these talent tree will be iterated on and build upon and they did confirmed that this tree will last 3 or so expansion.
It’s a great idea because now you will know beforehand if you should leave a group before you even get started.
Lmfao soo true!!
Talents and skills are internal to your character. External systems like Covenants and soulbinds or anima powers is what people don’t like.
By your logic you would consider gear to be borrowed power.
People who complain about people who complain about borrowed power just don’t understand that all power is technically borrowed and the people complaining about it are fine with some base systems that get tweaked, tuned, or overhauled over time.
What they’re not fine is “Here’s a thing, enjoy, except it’s clunky, and we need to update it 10 times until we finally perfect it…OK EXPANSION OVER THROW IT IN THE BIN, HERE’S A NEW BRAND NEW SYSTEM…except it’s clunky, and we need to update it 10 times…”
Gear is definitely borrowed power. Tier sets are borrowed power.
Tell me how every patch my character going from a god to a peasant that can barely fight doesn’t involve the word borrowed power.
