Take Retribution DIVINE SHIELD AWAY and make us a real CLASS!

An ironic assertion.

Oh my, it doesn’t work against checks notes Feral Druids/Travel Form, and Shamans in Ghost Wolf.
That only leaves
Warriors
Rogues
Priests
Mages
Warlocks
Hunters

Only useful 90% of the time… what a waste.

Fixed that for you.
And yes, the 30% stun resist is nice, one of the best PvP racials in the game.

But it’s not as good as everyone’s 100% resistance to an Orc Shaman stun.

If they’re in the mode that “has more armor than you”…they are auto crits for Exorcism, and Holy Wrath stuns them.

Paladins are literally built to make Demons miserable, don’t tell me you’re struggling with a Meta lock. They don’t do damage, especially after Lake of Fire nerf.

For a moment I thought you were talking about lava lash from P2 and just hadn’t caught up, but you’re confusing it with Lava Burst- which only gets to be a guaranteed crit if they cast FS on you (which incidentally has the same range as repentence) and is a hard cast unless they get their 5% chance proc.

I really wish Paladin players would stop hiding behind the retnoobs.
Competent Paladins that use their kit are just as scary if not moreso than Shamans.

Shamans can Zug hard and do a lot of damage quickly. They die if they don’t.
Paladins are much more well rounded and have an answer to almost everything, all the time.

(And every 5 minutes, they have the answer TO everything.)

All of your DPS is tied to a 30 yard range instant cast holy damage that autocrits Meta locks?

  1. That isn’t the case.
  2. Even if it were, that’s still pretty nice for a “melee” class.

Pummeler is bis for its on-use, then you switch to Sul’thraze.
You have my sympathy for the bis raid weapon weapon not being the ideal swing speed. (Shammy bis weapons in Phase 1 was rogue dagger…)

btw: Shammy BiS MH in Phase 3 are BoEs.

Show me your paladin main and then I listen to you.

I never liked the bubble design. It’s just a bad idea. I think paladin should have a more modern design. I’m sure some people think this defeats the point of classic.

I mained Paladin back in wrath. (Which isn’t too unlike SoD Paladin as it happens…)

8% non-stacking, the same as literally everyone else.

Does not close gaps. Shaman have Freedom AND multiple slows.

20 yard range and 10 yard range respectively.

That is not a gap closer… are you people this unable to grasp what words mean?

Charge is a gap closer. Shadowstep is a gap closer. Repentance is NOT a gap closer.

I have yet to 2 shot a single person in a BG, and I DUNK on people. The highest burst damage in a global I can reasonably achieve is like 3200, which is respectable, but not a one shot with 30% health buff. And relies on 3 abilities all critting.

It’s not like Shaman aren’t also deleting people with stormstrike windfury combos. While also having the paladin freedom paired with TWO slows.

All I want is either judgement of justice becomes a 50% slow, or we get a libram that grants 30% movespeed for 3 seconds on judgement.

Tied to judgement so it’s locked to 10 yard range unless we want to give up our spellpower and bonus healing rune. Both would be magic effects, so shaman can purge, and priests can friendly dispel. And they again have our freedom on a totem… so rude.

We have good damage, and we have sort of okish support, but we’re constantly having to use it on ourselves or be useless.

Every other melee class got something that boosted thier mobility in their kit. Warriors got charge in combat, in ANY stance, with a ROOT REMOVAL! And a ranged root. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!!

Rogues got shadowstep.

Shaman got a freedom totem.

Paladins got nothing.

Wasn’t SoD supposed to be about exploring the problems with the classes and bridging the gaps between the top tiers?

So why is it that the best melee PVP class in the game got MORE mobility and power, and paladins are still stuck with the EXACT same weaknesses that pushed us into being exclusively reckoning bomb bots in PVP?

I don’t know, I just killed 3 random level 50’s who attacked me (a level 46 paladin) one after another while I was trying to quest in gadgetzan. And I saved my bubble for the right moment each time, they all (a priest, a shaman, and then a rogue) lost because of it.

The rogue was the best one too. He got his opener off, I saved bubble. He vanished, I broke it with a nicely timed rank 1 concentrate. He prepped and vanished to give it one more go, got his opener thinking I was low enough to win the fight in stead of running away like he should have, I bubbled.

Did you try doing the same thing without bubble?

Why should I? It’s a tool in my kit, I’d be stupid not to use it.

No try this again when you Bubble is on CD let me know how it goes.

Again why? If they can’t use their kit to gap me and wait it out, that’s on them. By the way, THEY attacked me. They made their bed, I tucked them in.

Stormwolf is still gaslighting shaman at the cost of paladins…

You don’t know the difference between a stun and repentance and You Say You had a paladin, l0ser.

Keep praying for shamans getting a stun, that Will never happens, or reroll Tauren if You need a stun.

Yes it is tied to exorcism, and no it’s really not that nice for a melee class the way you are thinking it is. All our damage is tied to exorcism because we can get resets for it, but in order to get the reset we have to get into melee and then crit.

So normally it’s a 30 yard range instant damage ability on a 15 second cooldown that is unusable in PVP without the rune. Also shaman can spam purge and reduce our damage, and our reset chances, by 50% because for some ungodly reason seals are magic buffs.

It’s VERY different. As I recall you have Divine Steed, which is a major movement speed cooldown, and you have a 15% pursuit of justice, making it actually valuable.

He assumed that just because we got divine storm… it’s the same as wrath lol

This is a retail ability, not wrath. I know you haven’t been playing WoW for that long but please try and learn about something before talking about it.

Well so is Hammer of the Righteous, Sheath of Light… they borrowed HEAVILY from Wrath for the runes.

20 years buddy. Sorry that you have to result to insults.

See there’s this thing you quoted, it’s VERY important, it’s the “as I recall” part. Recollections can be incorrect. In this case I was incorrect. Because I mean, it’s hard to remember every single instance of every ability paladins have had and every different part of them over the last 20 years and when they were added. Which is why I said that the way I did. But you knew that already. It’s why you’re bad faith argument ignored the REST of what I said.

interestingly enough you have judgement of the just, stopping bonus movespeed effects something else missing from SoD that Wrath gave paladins.

I mean you played WSG lately we lost 90% of the time… you know why? Because Shamans are 5x more powerful in toolkit and capability then we are.

There is nothing Paladins do better then Shamans. Nothing

Hammer of Justice, Seal of Justice, Repentance

Seal of Justice does absolutely nothing. It doesn’t slow. If your target is away and you stun is on CD it’s away. that’s it.

Or if say you engage a mage you stun he blinks you repentance he resisted. Fight is over. That’s all.

I am not even talking about him being able to ice block and blink again and both stun and repentance would be on cd and its gg anyway. I guess that’s why all the top players play Mages.

In classic you had to use a seal and then use judgement which would activate the seal’s special effect. For example, seal of justice rank 2 did this effect when you used judgement with it.

This is the actual issue since the class so tied into exorcism shockadins are the main flavor.

Also 20 years of play and you failed to remember that paladin in legion and wrath were YEARS APART. I got very mad over divine steed since I did not like the ability.

How do you think MSW and WF work?

It costs us the same amount to purge and the same GCD as it is for Paladin to reseal…it’s not really worth it.

It’s not that different.

Pretty sure Divine Steed came in Legion.

(I had to check, because I quit playing Paladin at Cata. I hated what they did to the class.)

Yes, it was better than the original 8%.

(But Paladins also get to have Stam, Agi, or Spurs on their boots and retain the dismounted movement speed, don’t act like it’s nothing.)
