They were items always if I remember correctly. I have both. But they aren’t loot table items and AFAIK were soulbound as soon as they showed in my bags.
It is an appearance now, I got the Scythe of the Unmaker (LFR) yesterday, and I had to right click it to add it to my appearance tab and then the item went poof.
So yeah, Warlocks are gonna be out of luck unless Blizzard implements a system that allows the Felguard to equip weapons from your appearance closet instead of your inventory.
My Hunter friend has it, so I believe it drops for anyone who can wield 2-Handed Swords.
They (sword anyway) can only drop for Pally, Warrior, or DK. It’s on wowhead. Maybe they were trade-able at one point as like a bug but I don’t think that was ever their intention tbh.
Yes, I believe, at least during Legion, Hunters were eligible for Taeshalach and Scythe of the Unmaker, because I think my Hunter at the time got Taeshalach.
Not sure if Hunters are still able to get Taeshalach, but they should be able to get the Scythe because it’s a polearm.
They should open it up for anyone playing a Warlock or specced into a Demonology Warlock.
I’d also add this weapon:
As a possible grab. At the moment you have to be running with someone who can loot it during a Legion Invasion and have them trade it to you.
I want the 2h mace from invasions It matches the fel guard armor perfectly.
You missed few there bud.
