There is no trying again here. You clearly have an addiction and if that word is to strong a clear and very overwhelming passion to play this game or one character only. And instead of doing anything else with life itself you are on this one character (or account) and want Blizz to hand you tedious and annoying grinding that has killed off the games population by over half of what it had. You are also being extremely rude and hostile to all who disagree with you. I want to be able to do other things with my life as many others do too without having to fall behind and be like “whelp you didn’t spend every waking hour grinding AP power so we can’t take you on end game content”.
Wasn’t the AP grind just…endless WQ’s and Dungeons anyway?
Wait, so now it had too much to do because it had the garrison that had a long going on AND all the reps and other things to work on?
i dont think people complained about systems being in the game i think they where complaining about the horrible features in the system.
No… they complained about the systems being in the game. Gated from off specs in Legion, because of AP, was terrible. It wasn’t because of the features of the system. It was the system itself.
People were tired of feeling like they were getting left behind if they skipped a day or few because of life. That wasn’t because of a feature within the system, it was the system itself.
It was, but people hated azerite gear and a lot of the content and left.
Thats what I thought I remembered reading about.
The azerite crap killed it for me. Once I saw that first ‘tiny azerite splinter’ I think it was, BFA was over for me mentally. I just auto piloted thru to get the crap I wanted. Stopped reading the quests boxes, didnt care about the story. Went entirely brain dead for the rest of the expansion.
BFA released azerite gear without us getting to really test it in beta. And then keep stacking on systems to make up for it being ill received.
The systems killed it for me. Just overload. Too much focus on NON content.
Good riddance to them and the never-ending carrot on a stick.

It was the system itself.
i consider AP the feature of a system
Artifacts being the system. feature of the system… artifact power gate keeping unlocks
← demontune btw. maining shadowpriest now.
Wait, so now it had too much to do because it had the garrison that had a long going on AND all the reps and other things to work on?
Do you comprende the difference between MODERATION and ALL CONSUMING ?
If not, theres literally NOTHING I can do to help you here.
Again…Mists farm…fun, interesting, light, NOT overshadowing the entire expansion. Garrison…TOO consuming, TOO much focus.
I didnt say ‘too much to do’ now did I?
YOU inserted that line, guy.
The garrison WAS the expansion…and it was too much. As proven by ten thousand articles and comments out there easily found that say the garrison ruined WoW by having TOO much too do to keep you inside.
Instead of playing WoW, you were playng a game called “garrison”.
MODERATION.
BALANCE.
Are these concepts foreign to you?
There is gonna be plenty to do.
Feels good to have an expansion to be hyped about again.
i consider AP the feature of a system
Artifacts being the system.
To me, Artifacts were just the talents/weapons. AP was the system to gate it. Without AP, they would’ve just leveled with us and we would’ve put points in as we leveled.
I see what you’re saying, I think we’re just looking at it differently. But I do get where you’re coming from.
Because they stopped making content halfway through WoD to work on Legion. Launch of WoD was well accepted.
The cries of “nothing to do” were there in the first month. Not the massive content drought that came later.
Raid and content pacing up through 6.2 was pretty normal for Blizzard and it included a new zone with dailies, new raids, new invasions, and other relatively normal patch content.
Mists farm…fun, interesting, light
Everyone despised the Mists farm until we didn’t have it anymore. The sheer amount of complaints and rage both in in-game chat and on the forums was astounding.
The cheers that went up when it was abandoned was like a huge party.
I don’t know where people get these delusions about the farm being great.
I see what you’re saying, I think we’re just looking at it differently. But I do get where you’re coming from.
to explore it further tho.
i view it this way because without the artifact talents/weapons. AP cant stand on its feet alone.
but without AP… artifacts could stand tall and cover what you even covered. allot of people feeling gated which where a huge issue.
ontop of that the legiondaries. good lordy
people legit resetted there characters multiple times if they got a prydaz ( pre buff ) or sephuz ( pre buff )
No the breaking point was the selfie stick patch and them confirming a raid tier would be cut. What came before was people getting worn out on garrisons being the primary focus of the expac, and having to be in it all day and not out in the world.
Garrisons should have been a side venture.
Legiondaries were the beginning of the end of real legendaries. LOL
The cries of “nothing to do” were there in the first month. Not the massive content drought that came later.
For what it’s worth I think people will be content mostly for DF. But let’s check back in an expansion or two when it starts to get old just like the systems.

this is how it always goes people hate the people and designers behind things until they are actually gone. See Ghostcrawler.

Gimme my Shattrath raid. Nao.

They didn’t confirm a raid tier was being lost until like 8 months into the expansion after HFC was out.
What’s funny is WoD actually had more raid bosses than Cata.
Not excusing getting a tier cut. If they did know that ahead of time they needed to let HM raid last longer before releasing BRF. 3 raid tiers wasn’t exactly unheard of since Cata, MoP, WoD, and SL each had 3 raid tiers. Wrath, Legion, and BFA are the only expacs with 4 raid tiers and Wrath got it done by reskinning a vanilla raid to save tons of art assets along with a 1 (2) boss raid tier.

The lionizing of the “old devs” that goes on here is hilarious. I remember those days quite clearly because WoW was the first game where I supplemented playing by reading fan sites and forums. The abuse hurled at those devs was iconic.
The abuse hurled at those devs was iconic.
it still can get pretty hilarious. see certain people in this thread that think Ion is an evil raiding master mind.
They cant learn so keep repeating their mistakes
If this were true, Aspect Power would be one of the main features listed on the box.
You clearly have an addiction
Whatever your day job is, don’t quit it. You’re clearly not cut out for fortune telling.
Wasn’t the AP grind just…endless WQ’s and Dungeons anyway?
Pretty much, yes. I made a mistake in my opening and didn’t include more so everyone is zeroing in on AP specifically, but more broadly and generally speaking I’m referring to some type of end game progression system for players to work on that exists outside of dungeons/raids/pvp that runs the course of an expansion.
I think something like that has a place and a role in this game and I’m wondering if DF will be lacking without something like it.
