System flags

Yes. I won’t elaborate further as this ain’t, or at least is supposed to not be, that kind of a forum. But… yes.

They are one and the same.
Would be cool to learn when the stereotype became popularised though, or if it has always been around. It’d be cool to look into that.

As far as I can tell the post wasn’t wrongfully flagged.

Mentioning and discussing moderation actions is against the rules, so there is nothing wrongful about the flagging.

And how do you know if the post got wrongfully flagged? Moderation hasn’t restored it.

Is it “Mentioning and discussing moderation actions” or is it “Mentioning and discussing specific moderation actions”.
We can still discuss how system works as long as there isn’t any specific topics which “break” TOS?

Beceause afaik there wasn’t anyting against TOS in that particular post? Or was there?

This should’t be the solution.
Which brings us back to OP’s point.

AFAIK the entire topic is not allowed outside of CS forums.

Not really.
The reason why is because topics like those always become inflammatory piles of garbages. So we aren’t really allowed to discuss any amount of moderation. We can ask for advice or help (usually done or referred to the CS sections of the forums at that point), and in those situations clarification may become necessary, but talking about it in broad or specific strokes?

Nope.

OP doesn’t have a point, that’s the point.
Anyone can flag a post for any reason and that’s a good thing.

It means that we can, as a community in principle, establish a set of norms of what we consider acceptable. Overwhelmingly this system typically works but it is due to edge cases, contentions but allowed opinions, and false flags that we require moderators to determine whether a post is oh-kay or not.
OP is just complaining that they got flagged and that’s it. By what others have said it seems like they were fairly flagged, and so made a post (this one) about it but then pretended it was a “discussion of moderation” when in reality it was a “let me complain about no one liking my offensive opinions.”

Can’t say for certain, but judging by what folks who have read OP’s previous posts elsewhere … that seems to be the case.

I dont know what the context here is, but yeah…we have a small group in here who abuse the flag every day when they feelins get hurt and moderation does nothing to stop it, so this is what you get.
Best bet is just dont participate much at all.
Until moderation starts getting serious and removing these trolls, they will run this forum.
Nothing uncommon. Ive seen a number of forums like this destroyed over this exact thing…one of which had over 30k members yet only about 15 active…and they behaved the same way we see in here…allowing abusive behavior by a few members to ruin the experience for the rest.

Ironically, and not you of course, those screaming the loudest for an account wide ignore dont even put the person on ignore theyre claiming they need the ignore for, lol.
Theyve used my posts as their reason for needing an account wide ignore…and the countdown begins NOW to see how long it takes for one of them to respond to me proving they dont have me on ignore after about two years of claiming they want account wide ignores so they can ignore me, yet they never do…lol

So if this topic would be moved to CS it would be fine?
In theory if this topic becomes inflammatory, shouldn’t garbage posts under it be silenced and moderated?

I agree.

Where did they say that?
Because what I find interesting is:

How can I see what post was removed and why? Because it got X amount of flags?

I guess so. But I noticed multiple times innocent posts got flagged.

Human male paladin. You know, the guys in arathi plate who yell about agendas and youths

Not really.
The first and most consistent response would’ve been this:

Probably a bit more tempered, because those forums usually are.

I have had my posts flagged before by angry bigots before, so I know the message that gets sent you. OP knows EXACTLY why they were flagged, and also for what. The only difference is that they are far more likely, again judging by the comments here, to not have been falsely flagged.

That happens all the time but that’s for a moderator to sort out. Not to discuss further. Because that justs inflamed almost immediately. Largely because folks on these forums now’a’days (if not always) are far too into trolling, being rude, and tons and other stuff like that. So reporting a post doesn’t mean it automatically gets removed but it does mean that it is more likely to be considered whether it is inappropriate/offensive or not.

What matters is whether action is taken in regards to a flagging. Not the actual flagging itself.

WoW like a lot of social platforms seems to have fallen victim to " the hecklers veto". When certain topics come up people have found you can mass report or spam that topic to supress it enough to not allow discussion of it. Its annoying but there isn’t a lot you can do as a user.

That’s the mature and healthy solution. Have a really unfair system and ban people for bringing it up.

I feel ya…
But you really shouldn’t question these things.
You know the ole saying about knowing who rules over you…
I’ve gotten a short vacation just by simply asking " why ".

Well you shouldn’t. And it shouldn’t be against the TOS to question unfair rules.

I agree.
The post in question was clearly not against TOS, and the opinion on it being ’ trolling ’ was completely subjective. ( I still don’t think any of the riech actually read it ).
So, i asked why. and got suspended for ’ trolling ’ :man_facepalming:

You’re talking about in-game?

Typically the forum warnings do link to the post in question.

It’ll say, this post has been removed for w/e reason and link the post.

Don’t think the removal of posts = action on your account though.

lol…your accusers are allowed a voice every time they coodinate a flag bombing…but you as their victim have no voice. If a biased or tired moderator goes along with it just to keep from having to deal with it…and I fully understand the ‘tired’ ones and empathize…then your voice is silenced both by the mob AND the system lol.

As i said above…until moderation decides to stop playing this game of allowing ANY flag for any reason, this forum will continue to be abused by a few.

Oddly the forums I own and admin for others dont have these problems anymore.
Two way ignores and punishments enforced for using the report/flag as a downvote have fixed 99.999% of that .

They always project onto others exactly what they are here for as well:

That their target is “promoting harm, harassment, abuse, etc.” yet it’s all they engage in on here.

You can always appeal.
