whats the point of pvp servers, if everyone on the faction is on the same faction except for like 10 people
Dunno, but it worked for that long with no problems. Don’t fix what’s not broken or if you do fix it, don’t fix it with giving one side free stuff so more people will play it.
it did not “work” for a long time, servers becoming one sided to the point where its 99-1. world pvp was completely dead before bfa.
Welp, it didn’t kill the game. Like I said, legion was one of the most popular expansions with it working that way. I guess It’s not that big of a deal.
legion was not popular because of pvp, it was popular because it was coming off of a universally hated expansion called wod.
I disagree and I’ll leave it at that. Legion proved that PvP wasn’t a problem.
legion largely ignored pvp, hell i got prestige levels not by doing actual pvp but by doing the towers, i was literally levelling up my pvp prestige level through pve content
This is speaking as an Alliance player:
I’m pretty sure it’s because Blizzard knows the majority of Alliance players are big babies that will not take one defeat lying down. There’s always gonna be an uproar if the Alliance loses a little bit. Notice how the Alliance beat the crap out of the Horde in the new Darkshore/Night Warrior story, but we somehow still got mad because Tyrande didn’t kill one of the Horde’s main and necessary characters despite the fact that she killed another of the Warchief’s very essential Val’kyr?
I’m seriously starting to think that the Alliance has no sense of how story conflict and drama works. We just want to win, win, win, peace, win, beat evil, win, win, win, no losses, no scratches, win, win, no interesting story is fine as long as we WIN.
The writers focus more on horde then alliance. Remember they claim its more interesting to work on horde story then alliance. If you want any change the writers need to start showing the alliance more attention /development. But again there stuck on writing horde because they enjoy that faction more.
Also the alliance leaders aren’t the evil/villians that the horde ones are made out to be. Sylvannas and her forsaken in BFA/darkshore are already being potrayed as n*zi’s with what goes on. So its kinda normal for the bad guys to get the shaft more. Some players that play horde enjoy being evil , but some don’t thats why you guys get to choose between Sylvannas and Saurfang.
Alliance players would love to see more development in there own leaders. But what we get is small in comparission to the horde. Alex and Danuser see to it that the alliance key figures can’t really cut loose and lay waste to things. Malfurion could have easily taken out Sylvannas. But at the fault of the writers they heald back. But see right now theres alot of alliance players as well as horde that aren’t enjoying the story so far. One way to strike back at the writers and devs is to not buy any books that they release. If you want to change things do it with your wallet.
So what they need to do is bring on some Pro-Alliance Writers who thoroughly enjoy the faction and want to make it both interesting and appealing to Players.
Can I have the job?
And that is not even counting Varian coming back from being missing and resuming his position as King only to die.
Alliance players would whine too hard.
Let’s look at vanilla leaders.
Horde
Sylvanas: alive, blizzard writing her to be gone soon.
Carine: dead.
Voljin*: dead
Thrall: Out of commission; powerless… elements abandoned him. Then let’s look at the alliance.
Anduin: alive, current high king. Plot armor till he’s grey.
Magni: Speaker of Azeroth; demigod alliance favoritism shown in recent book.
Mekkatorque: Alive; will intentionally freeze himself to save his life.
Tyrande: Now the avatar of elune, she’s pretty much a demigod. Why is blizzard so afraid to kill any alliance leaders… even in the recent raid I wouldn’t be surprised if the alliance gets to kill all our npc’s and their npc’s ex machina escape.
You killed off our heroes all the time. Kill off some long standing alliance heroes blizzard.
Your list is neither comprehensive nor accurate.
I thought it was shoulders on.
Ok one of us is ‘oops’. not troll here; need a DEFINITE answer on this.
Later
I goofed.
Shoulders OFF for SAURFANG, the TRUE Leader and Spirit of the Horde!
Terran Gregory and Christie Golden are both fans of the alliance. But due to idiots on twitter, that harassed Golden for having an anduin background and pictures . She had to change it. Lets not forget all the horde players that sent her deaththreats after the Sylvannas warbringer went live. But what horde players didn’t realize is that it was Danuser and Alex’s doing, Not Goldens, because for stuff to go live it has to get Alex and Danusers approval. Plus Alex most likely was the one that wanted to push Sylvannas in her current direction. Yet Christie was the one that got the attack from the players when it wasn’t even her fault.
To have Alliance story develop further, they should get rid of Alex and Danuser. It’s the only way alliance story will develop. Then maybe horde won’t have to deal with internal conflict much.
I’m seriously starting to think that the Alliance has no sense of how story conflict and drama works. We just want to win, win, win, peace, win, beat evil, win, win, win, no losses, no scratches, win, win, no interesting story is fine as long as we WIN.
I think this is the biggest problem for alliance getting interesting stories. While many players might enjoy it there would be too much shrieking from the usual suspects. I would imagine after the vulpera purge rewrite, the writers were told not to go there again and to stick to the “tallyho onwards and upwards”, cat stuck up a tree nonsense stories.
Alliance have all the god-mode leaders that now can’t be killed, only put on ice, as it were, lest the little shriekers do themselves a mischief. At the very least it will be fun on the forums if blizzard do somehow remember where they left their courage.
bolvar Fordragon, encased in a block of ice
Varian Wrynn, dead.
Who cares if the alliance didn’t turn WM on,
A bunch of Horde players whining about having no one to kill.
And of course Blizzard themselves, who are desperate to salvage something from this expansion. Plus, since PvP isn’t actual content they develop, if they get people PvPing they can cut costs like Activision demands by leaving the players to serve as content instead of thingsthat actually take resources.
The horde is never out numbered because nobody likes playing alliance
Plenty of people like playing Alliance, the Horde just have an objectively better experience in many areas.
It’s almost as if the game hasn’t been out for over a decade and people don’t play both factions… this Horde vs Alliance stuff really doesn’t make any sense what so ever.
Lets not forget all the horde players that sent her deaththreats after the Sylvannas warbringer went live.
This is why we can’t have nice things. Even if you don’t like the direction the story is going, I have an extremely hard time believing that any story is worth threatening the writer over.
