Sylvanas showing up to promote future exapansions

I wasn’t sure how important Sylvanas’ comment that “The Shadowlands are not what they seem.” was. But her showing up in the Midnight Falls raid cinematic Blizzard, to promote the idea makes that clear. I half expected Sylvanas to say “coming in a future expansion”.

I guess I’m not sure if it is going to be “The Last Titan” or the one after that.

Yeah ngl the return of the Banshee Queen was always going to be contentious. But having her walk in from stage left and yell

SEQUEL HOOK

Was perhaps the worst way she could’ve been implemented.

Also why are the Windrunners being made the First Family of Warcraft? Is this doing anything for anyone? Sylvanas was the only relevant member of that fallen house for decades and she was mostly known for her postmortem work.

Now out of the blue the game seems to think I’m really invested in the trials and tribulations of some Sin’Dorei aristocrats. When personally my favorite update to Thalassian lore is that they’re breeding elf hounds again, which appear to be a Dachshund (weiner dog) mix of some sort.

Must be extremely effective dogs as I’ve yet to even encounter a badger.

The badger kept escaping and sucessfully fighting off its captors. The elves were forced to go with the hounds instead as the elves learned the hard way that the badger refuses to listen to anyone or anything

My favorite is the guy who wants to make them hunting dogs in Silvermoon. He references the hunting grounds of Gilneas and Kul Tiras and wants an Eversong equivalent.

And gloriously I did that quest on my BM Hunter whose RP’d as a Houndmaster. So I’m standing there with my darkhounds who are thrice the size of their elf hounds going;

Well just in my professional opinion, I’m seeing some hurdles you’ll have to overcome

Although fun fact only dog breed to send me to the hospital was a golden retriever. Worked at a shelter and had to move her to a different kennel. Trouble was she was in heat so was extremely interested in all the male dogs we were passing by and while struggling with her she snapped at my arm and managed to puncture my radial artery.

Worked with pit bulls, dobermans and rottweilers without a scar to show for it but Air Bud nearly put me in a box. So ya never know.

If we’re lucky whatever else they have to do with the Shadowlands is confined to Last Titan’s filler .1 patch.

I don’t claim to be in the majority, a lot of people complain about them. But I wonder if there are more people like me who do like them, and just blithely scroll over the hate.

Sylvanas is getting better all the time. I liked helping her weave baskets and save souls in the War Within. She was even lying to the souls just to help them move on - being bad and being good at the same time. I didn’t really care much about her until she became Warchief, and she has grown on me over time, where it seems other people can’t stand her.

Lirath always struck me as a tragic story. Ever since I learned about him, I hoped we would encounter his ghost either in the Shadowlands or somewhere in Eversong. So meeting him was cool.

As far as Arator… I am Ok with him. I don’t mind the shoe-horned training in Silvermoon to get him cred with the Silvermoon Elite. I don’t mind his naive and benevolent nature - almost reminds me of Candide. And he has the Windrunner name. I was open to giving him a chance and he hasn’t disgusted me yet, like say, Toddy Whiskers or Xera.

I enjoy the Windrunner family drama - even the Windrunners I love to hate, like Alleria and Vareesa and Vareesa’s red headed spawn.

To be fair, I think it works OK for them, at least based on realistic expectations . Better to be hit over the head with it than , as so often happens, sonething coming out of nowhere because every one missed the one piece of dialog on a side quest.
