Sylvanas and Arthas

So I read the spoilers and this is my prediction (or speculation, whatever you wanna call it)

Sylvanas will be forgiven/redeemed of her crimes ONLY if she completely and truly forgives Arthas for everything he did to her and her people.

You know how the Bible says forgive if you want to be forgiven?

Yeah, that.

We’ll just forget everything that involves genocide and burning the Great Tree if she forgives the ONE PERSON that too committed genocide in Northrend and Strathome.

Makes perfect sense.

No, because IRL religion has little-to-none to do with this video game.

No, why would everyone on Azeroth want to forgive Sylvanas for what she has done? Malfurion hasn’t stated whether he’ll forgive or not but he is simp for Tyrande.

Also why would want her to forgive Arthas? If anything this makes it even more stupid and more drama within the Horde. Arthas was a terrible human to everyone on Azeroth, he shouldn’t be forgiven for what he has done.

She’s his wife :joy:

I want to see Greymane go beserk seeing her alive and before any explanation of the rest of the cast rips her apart. Old man won’t be having it.

Idc how much evil she’s done, no one should have to forgive their abuser :face_vomiting: :face_vomiting: :face_vomiting:

Lol but I mean like he just does everything she says even though it’s a horrible idea. I get it that they’re married but they should at least be able to disagree with each other on some of the stuff. This could be a good way to set up a future expansion for Elune and Tyrande going mad.

It won’t be a good look in the woke era for an abused woman to forgive her abuser .

No one on Azeroth is ever going to forgive her. I think her time on our world is done, she has nothing here.

The SL people are more used to dealing with troubled souls so they’re much more open minded.

More likely she may still die by the end of this, but alive or dead I don’t think her soul is going to leave the SL. She’d probably remain here and be charged to somewhere. Thus ending her story. Hopefully!

I’ve read the spoilers on WoWhead is and given that the writers are giving her some wiggle room to “excuse” her past crimes I can see them going full steam with the redemption arc as they pay themselves on the back for being creative.

As for forgiving Arthas, with the retcon of the Helm of Domination and Frostmourne now making them instruments for the Jailer I’m sure Blizz would use this too as an excuse to forgive him because the poor boy was being controlled like Sylvanas. Despite everything we’ve seen of Arthas looking like he was in full control of his actions.

So no surprises if both are redeemed because everything that happened to them is the Jailer’s fault.

But neither one needs to set foot back on Azeroth because people can forgive but that doesn’t mean forgetting what vile things a person has done and never wanting to see or be near them even if they apologize.

You would think that. Then again, people are ready for divorce at the first sign of disagreement… because they’re weak.

Except that he is not an abuser and she is not abused. He was a conqueror and she was the leader of an army. This is not a 1:1 dynamic. The same dynamic existed between Queen Azshara and Prince Farondis. Farandis was not abused, he was conquered.

Words like forgiven or redeemed carry the implication that the receiver of such is guilty of something. Sylvanas did Azeroth a favor by burning down that hideous weed.
