“swipers” are waiting for actual information to be released, as that update was a big nothingburger.
Blizzard have a long history of ‘soft changes’ when it comes to controversial community issues.
This could be anything from a simple expansion on the current in game advertising restrictions to a full detection/enforcement of trades within raiding which gets loads of false positive bans on innocents.
we simply do not know, any discussion beyond this is pointless and dumb.
Wait so you’re admitting that gdkpers are gold buyers? I thought you said gdkpers didn’t buy gold? Why would gold buyers be sending him gold if the gdkpers apparently don’t buy gold?

I see them changing how the game works rather than trying to police it. For example they could make gold untradeable while in raids. And then when you leave the raid, any gear you have with the 2 hour trade timer becomes bound to you. This would be a really effective way to ban GDKPs without needing a GM police force analyzing every raid group for compliance.

Such a method would severely hinder GDKP (especially pure PUG runs with no outside organization) but not remove it, gold can be traded to alts or simply tallied up and settled later via an admin / honesty / escrow system.

Who’s gonna risk getting ninja’d though? If you were a GDKP organizer would you trust everyone to pay you outside of the raid after giving out the loot? Lots of people would just skip out without paying, knowing that there’s no recourse because the GDKP was not allowed to begin with.

If it wasn’t for the RMT aspect of GDKP, it would have been a great system. Are you fully decked out, and want to grind gold? Carry people who need the loot and profit
