Healers used to be rare in OW1. I liked it because my queue was always very fast as support.
In OW2 they changed support to be more offensive and essentially just DPS with healing. Now their queue is longer because there are more of them. ![]()

This time they’ll definitely not rug pull everyone and just have another season of 100 to 0 spike damage fests, it will definitely happen this time.
The changes aren’t a nerf they’re just changing it so the values are a gradual change and not just a big jump in and out of raids. Atonement healing currently doubles when not in a raid. In Midnight the healing gradually declines after 5 instead of just being cut in half when you’re in a raid. It’s actually a buff up to some target amount.

THen you are playing the wrong role.
Hey blizz this is a bad call. Stop homogenizing healers and losing all of their uniqueness. You made healing boring before and we had no healers. You nerfed our cooldowns and we hated you for it. Leave the healers alone. Leave the damage alone. You got it right in TWW. The rot damage is right, the keys are good. Leave our addons alone. The non-casuals play the game to heal and not dps. Otherwise we go back to dragonflight where healers were optional. This is a bad call and its going to cost you subs.
When playing mistweaver or preservation 2 of the most fun spells are jade fire stomp and spirit bloom. Casting those feels awesome. And for some reason we’re losing both in Midnight.
I love Oracle for its complexity. I’m sad. I’ll play the wait and see game for now. However, I only play this game to heal and if these changes make healing less fun, then I’m out.
That’s fair. I do think something needs to be done about healing generally though, healers are stressed as heck and fewer people want to play them. Generally, I think it could be more approachable.
It’ll be good for the queues and game if more people heal.
Why is everyone calling this “dumbing” it down? Can’t you see?
I believe that’s not so much a buttons issue as it is a spike damage and low healing numbers issue. They wanted to rely more on people using their own cooldown or making healers heal more often than DPSing or something, is what it felt like to me.
But I don’t see more people healing because they’ve got three buttons to push with this same issue.
Where are you seeing this stuff
When are heals that important outside of a raid? Did you die outside of the raid? Probably not, but the other 5 dudes that i can’t heal as well probably will when I’m RAIDING.
I think like any other company with shareholders, at the end of the day they will push what will bring them in the most revenue. The core player base is aging and not many younger players are joining the game now compared to what it was at WoWs peak but that speaks for overall numbers too. I think you are right that they want to draw in a younger audience.
But who knows until it’s officialy confirmed and out there, everything is just speculation. Maybe WoW never reaches consoles. I can’t really think how people could PvP, raid or do keys at the same level playing with a controller compared to using a keyboard and mouse. But if it reduces button bloat slightly, it may not be a bad thing.
As much as I love having 30+ keybinds of macros, defensives, CDs, healing and utility spells…I’d be ok if it is slighly simplified. I just am not a fan of it ever getting to consoles. At that point the current way of raiding and PvP would completely change. Which is why I’m not necessarily a fan of cartel chips and turbo boosts. It all kind of seems to lean towards gradually simplifying the game until it can get to console play. I’m always warry of game studio acquisitions of games I like to play. And Microsoft loves pushing their IPs to the Xbox pass if they can.
M+, probably even more in Midnight than it already is.
???
You don’t even know the rate of scaling down or what it hits at max targets. It may be exactly the same when you hit the max amount you can hit.
It’s also again just a significant buff in a raid when you’re healing fewer targets and you’re not at max atonements in a raid at all times.
Not counting full health allies makes it a significant buff in some situations as well.
… I do delves as a holy priest, I’ve never had an interrupt.
The Alpha hasn’t even launched and when it does, they’re gonna be taking tons of feedback and looking at tons of data before any of this goes live. So maybe instead of moaning and groaning about something that might never happen. Get yourself involved test it out and if it sucks, let them know.
Obvious troll is obvious.
So you agree we should be giving them feedback. Thanks for the valuable input, dork.
They’re better with feedback now than ever, but they’ve made some massive changes here. I doubt we’ll be able to convince them to change their philosophy. Instead, we’ll have to work with what we’ve got.
