Sweeping healer changes

For those that haven’t seen, there’s a lot of consistent healer changes across the board. Some great, some really questionable.

Essentially ever healer is getting very, very dumbed down regardless of whether some of the changes themselves are good. Pres, for example, just lost spirit bloom and can only lifebind one other person. Sooo am I supposed to be a dream breath and emerald blossom bot now? I absolutely despise emerald blossom.

Endless sigh…

I was jsut looking at some of the proposed changes. Lots of dumbing down to make specs “easier to pick up” rather than just making the core more reliable.

Hearing that anyone thought the mushroom spell (resto) was hard to keep track of was a serious downer for me…

Now I am nervous as hell.

edit: * Skull Bash is no longer available to Restoration Druids. OMG… :skull:

What???

Tell me that you are not understanding something.

I don’t understand why they’re dumbing down so many specs.

I don’t want less options / abilities. I hate when they do prunes. If they’re going to prune they might have well just stuck with the Mists-era talent calculator.

A step forward with Dragonflight and now a huge step in the wrong direction.

INB4 they actually are trying to make a mobile version of WoW. -_-

My reaction too. I love Spiritbloom.

I like the complexity of my class and spec. That was the entire point of Evoker and even had a warning on character creation that this was an advanced playstyle.

It’s out of the talent tree and their notes say it was removed.

I can’t confirm if it’s now baseline or not, but it’s not looking like it and they’re talking about wanting emerald blossoms to feel better. Like please don’t kill pres for me…

Where are you seeing this? I looked and can’t find anything recent about healer changes.

Hopefully it doesn’t get dumbed down to vanilla-wotlk era where you just spammed your best spell 90% of the time.

edit:

alpha talent trees are on wowhead now but missing graphics currently it looks like:

I’m hoping blizzard actually holds to this. Yo-yo health bars aren’t fun as a healer.

I much prefer slow rot dmg over big spikes.

That said… they’ve been doing these “we’re changing healing, guys” clickbait posts for years now. I’ll believe it when I play it for myself.

Glancing at the resto druid changes, some are interesting. They’ve merged some talents effects together. Flourish is now a modifier to tranquility and makes tranq increase HoT duration. Power of the Archdruid is now a talent that adds to soul of the forest. There’s an efflorescence talent that makes it cast on a target if you don’t want to ground target anymore.

Seems potentially interesting.

They can’t change healing when defensive exist like they do in the game. They can make 1000 healer changes but when defensives dictate whether you live or die and not your healer then rapid spike dmg is the only way to keep a healer challenged.

So obviously we haven’t seen what this actually means yet. And I’m no theory crafter so I could be 100% wrong but to me this reads like:

“Healers have too many buttons so lets force them to pick between abilities.”

“We’re breaking addons so healers won’t be able to track anything so we have to dumb it down… let’s change it so spells don’t impact each other so they don’t have anything to track.”

“Oh! No one is healing because its too stressful so to counter that lets’s force it to be slower by removing cooldowns.”

This just sounds boring as hell. I’ve been a healer since Wrath. I’m trying really really hard to not be an alarmist but between this and killing addons this might be the point where I bow to life-pressuer and quit the game.

That’s super lame…I hate playing healers with no kick.

Wait what??? no

Noooooooooo.

Healing is so fu nin this game compared to say XIV’s healing. I love that some classes have set ups and combos and really have to think about what they do.

The problem with healing isn’t really how healers play, but how damage in dungeons/raids work from what I’ve seen. Hopefully these do not go through.

They have to since they are removing combat addons. They have to make it stupid-simple since their idea of in-game Ui elements are basically useless. Fingers-crossed the debuff and external tracking isn’t as broken as the cooldown trakcing. I mean, as a hpal I can’t even tell if my consecration is still ticking way or not. Useless.

Rot is more fun I like medium/heavy rot it’s less frustrating to heal than random heavy burst damage- but I feel like most healers are built to handle rot pretty well? The problem is everything is burst spikes.

They seemed to have removed Peer Into Peace unless they made it baseline. They did add a new talent (those might be Apex talents?) to MW that is a proc that makes your next EM channel SooM onto 5 allies at once at 50% effectiveness. That could be interesting or at least look neat.

They also added a choice talent for way of the serpent vs. way of the crane and serpent lets you channel SooM or CJL while moving, but reduces movement speed. It’s nice that they aren’t abandoning caster spec and maybe are creating a more interesting talent combo for it.
