EVENT: Weekly Market RP Event
WHEN: Mondays, 7:30-9:30p realm time
WHERE: Stormwind Harbor Overlook (just past the tunnel coming from the transmog area, heading towards the docks)

There’s nothing like the exciting bustle of a market. Traders and merchants selling their exotic wares, buyers browsing and haggling over prices, food vendors keeping everyone fed, and performers wowing the crowds.

This is an open walk-up, public RP marketplace event that happens every Monday in Stormwind’s Harbor Overlook / Boardwalk area, and it is so much fun. There are monthly themed markets, too (for holidays, new seasons, etc.), so don’t miss out!

Merchants, come sell your goods (both real and RP goods are welcome).

Street performers, want to show off your skills? It’s always extra fun when musicians, entertainers, fortune tellers, or conjurers are about to add to the atmosphere.

Everyone else, don’t be shy! Check out this week’s market to buy, sell, barter, and make merry. A great RP outing or date night.

Basic Event Rules:

  1. Keep items sold and RP activities PG-13 (no adult-themed wares, illicit items, sex work/soliciting, etc., as this is a family-friendly event). Although, buying/selling alcoholic beverages is fine.
  2. Vendors only advertise in /yell every 10-15 min if you don’t have a customer. /yelling too often spams up the chat.
  3. No trolling.
  4. No harassment, in-game or on the official event discord.
  5. No activities breaking TOS.
  6. No theft of intellectual or creative property (ex: selling someone else’s art, etc.).
  7. No recruitment. This is an RP event, not a recruitment event. We will not accept recruiting at the Weekly Market as it causes too much spam in the chat.

No Recruitment Policy : This is an RP event, not a recruitment event. We will not accept recruiting at the Weekly Market as it causes too much spam in the chat. Please go to Cathedral Square if you wish to recruit or attend a recruitment event (such as the bi-monthly Job Faire). Anyone seen recruiting will be first asked to stop, and if they persist, will be put to an official vote for Blacklisting (see below).

Blacklisting Policy : Any persons or guilds who are seen to purposely be trolling, harassing, or recruiting at the Weekly Market event will be first asked IC and OOC to desist. If continued, this will be noted on the official Stormwind Market discord, and if verified, will be blacklisted by all participating guilds, vendors, merchants, etc. So do us all a favor…don’t be a jerk.

Just a reminder to all Weekly Market participants–vendor, shopper, etc…

The Weekly Market is NOT for recruitment. This includes advertising for your guild either is /yell or /say…parentheses or otherwise.

The point of this is to eliminate spam in the chat window. However, it also includes standing around, whisper-recruiting without participating at all in the RP event. Doing so takes up needed space with your banners and so on, which our vendor RPers need for their booths.

If we see anyone doing this, we will ask (IC and OOC) that you kindly stop or move out of yelling range.

No, we can’t police your movements. Obviously. People here have the right to move and act as they please.

But because it is so very distracting to this regularly scheduled public RP event, continuing to do so will cause you to be blacklisted (set on ignore) by all participating RPers.

We know not everyone need abide by our requests. It’s not our server. But there are many other places in the city to recruit during this 2-hour window once per week. All we are asking for is courtesy in this regard. Thank you. :wink:

It’s Market day! Woohoo! No themed market this week, but our vendors and entertainers are coming up with some holiday-themed goodies and might have a few to try.

This is always a great RP outing or ‘date night’ for the general public. As always, it’s in SW’s cobblestone square (by stockades, cooking dailies, etc.) from 7:30p - 9/9:30p realm time. :smile:
