Another sad topic… my account just got suspended for a week for advertising in the Trade (Services) channel.
I’m honestly confused. I wasn’t doing anything shady — just offering Mythic+ runs for gold, no real money, no toxic messages. I also wasn’t sitting there spamming non-stop, just posting in between keys while playing.
So now I’m trying to understand — is this just mass reporting? Do people really get suspended for using the Services channel for what it’s meant for?
If there’s some rule about frequency or posting limits, it’s not very clear. I’m not trying to break anything, just don’t want to get punished again for something that seems allowed.
I do understand that but I also a part of a boosting discord community that doing carries for the gold.
They do advertise on their characters and then collecting only 10% of the payment then the rest => to the actual booster. That was also confirmed by Blizzard when they sent them a ticket with a clarification.
Doesn’t matter, and quite frankly, seems even shadier.
Blizzard does not give any kind of “approval” of any in-game actions. Whatever they said they asked about and what response they said was given is likely a complete fabrication.
Regardless of what another player was “told” by Blizzard, your actions are your own. If you break the rules as you did, you will be actioned for it. It’s easy for these “communities” to tell you what they think is allowed, because it’s not their account on the line. It’s yours.
Not allowed. Advertise on the character that will be doing the runs.
It doesn’t matter. The rule is that you must advertise on the character that is completing the run. You were not, and that’s likely the reason you were actioned.
What I’m curious is if you look in the Trade Services chat - mostly people advertising different kind of boost (m+/leveling/raid) and if you check them - they are 10 lvl characters with no guild => this is tha majority of advertisers. Why they are not getting suspended/banned?
How do you know they wasn’t actioned, It does take a few days/weeks for Blizzard to process reports. Plus Blizzard does not discuss what happens to others accounts.
You are still not understanding. Other players that may be breaking the rules does not mean you can also break the rules. Your actions are yours, and yours alone.
How do you know that they haven’t been? Or aren’t about to be?
You don’t. Some players may not have been reported yet (that would be something you can do, if you see others breaking the rules). But most players, especially in the boosting ecosystem, do not stop when they are actioned. It will take getting all the way to much more severe suspensions, and possibly permanent bans, before they stop.
You are definitely allowed to appeal. That’s the right course.
But just to warn you, there is likely not going to be any clearer information. They will respond with an email telling you that it’s been upheld or overturned.
An appeal is not a conversation. They will only look at their logs again and determine if a mistake was made (which doesn’t sound like the case here) and either uphold or remove the account action.
Something that you should also consider; what you’re doing is extremely risky. If someone pays you with dirty gold, you will also face an account action for receiving it.
