I’m sure they’ll tune the numbers. If the only point in using Hatchet Toss was the free proc from KC (Quick Toss), why even have it as an active skill except for the fact that it now replaces arcane shot?
to be a tool to pull/tag things at range. during the wawi beta we “lost” that in serpent sting and the amount of chaos on the forums was intense. you’d think having a tag at range tool was the most important part of being a melee dps.
hatchet toss is also the new hogstrider proc, which does make it do pretty good damage in aoe
It was kind of a rhetorical question in reply to the previous post. To be clear, I’m happy it’s being added for thematic reasons if nothing else.
at the very least serpent sting on raptor strike NEEDS to come back it’s a vital part of the class identity and just make sense with survival being a hunter that uses poisons and traps and makes outland venom an even better talent
Some kind of melee serpent sting would be cool, imo. Either adding it to an existing ability via talents, or just giving SV hunters a new ability that poisons.
Not to argue, but rather to add to your point, you could argue as far back as 2008 when the spec focused around explosive shot. I think at the very least letting there be an option to focus on explosives within the talents is appropriate for the spec.
its just weird that their idea of pruning is to add an ability that interacts with one talent in one hero talent tree.
I don’t mind it being there, it just feels out of place.
it’s just a replacement for arcane shot and not really rotation, i wouldn’t really consider it bloat. not to mention we actually really need some sort of proc to react to so it’s kind of welcome for pack leader imo
I know it’s a replacement for arcane shot, which was also a random useless ability for surv hunters. why not have the proc be on an ability that already exists and that we use. its definitely bloat lol you need it on your bars despite it never really being pressed. just counter to all their other stated goals
there’s really not a lot on your bars next expansion lol idk about bloat. just kind of funny people can spend war within beta upset we don’t have a ranged tagger / mob puller and now that we do people are also upset
wfb has 40 yd range? aspect of the eagle? xplosive shot?
what are “people” talking about? plenty of ways to tag mobs,. and fyi internet a big place its probably different people. idc about having the button i just dont think its a good fit for hogstrider proc
im just telling you what people were mad about last cycle. they were upset that compared to other mdps we didnt have a way to tag or pull mobs at range without a cooldown.
On topic but a little off topic anyone know any streamers or youtube clips showing off the dual weilding hunter? Sick of these wasted alpha enjoyers doing nothing but look at the talent build and post all the dh void soec clips
dual wielding doesn’t function in alpha yet, a lot of your abilities still require 2h weapons. check back next build

we dont know yet, dw doesnt function in alpha and abilities dont have any off hand coefficients yet
that said, with lunge and that pack leader talent existing i cant imagine itll be neutral, probably more in favor of dw
Right makes sense. Hopefully they normalize those talents across wep attack speed, or provide a different bonus for 2h weapon. I’d like to keep my options open
