I could be 100% wrong here but I believe the cool-downs on carve is slightly lower.
So if there was a REALLY long winded AoE fight at some point you’d end up doing more carves to get more wildfire bombs off.
Would that equate to more damage done overall?
Nah more than likely not - it’s literally the stupidest choice anyone can be given in the game.
It’s like offering a mage a free frost bolt as fire spec or a free pyro proc.
