I’m guessing PvP rank on your WoW classic characters is all you have in life. This thread is spot on, ranking means nothing all the way to r14. The ranking system has been thoroughly exploited to exchange time for ranks with no requirement to play the game well. There is nothing competitive about the r14 grind because players bracket stack instead of competing with their own faction. They pop consumes as a premade to roll PuGs instead of competing with the other faction. Nothing about that process requires them to improve in PvP.

I don’t remember this ever being the case. Rank 14 has always been about time investment not skill.
edit: we literally have a warrior in guild doing r14 grind for gear, they hate pvp, admit they don’t like it and aren’t good at it but should have r14 in a few more weeks.

From what I’ve read (I haven’t tried it yet) it’s possible to rank all the way to 14 at lvl 59 so some of the Grand Marshal’s you’re fighting may be people that twinked and made premades in the 50s and stomped undergeared pugs till they got enough honor.

Can’t get r14 at level 59.
It’s the result of abusing cross server queues.
Vanilla PvP became a joke in 1.12.1 due to cross server queues but rank 14 weapons also stopped mattering by that point.

How do you know, have you tried it yourself?
I’ve read multiple threads from Reddit( I know) of players talking this over, though most seem to move up to 60 around rank 10, is there a guide somewhere you’re getting the listings of max rank per bracket from?
We knew this from vanilla. It’s well documented.
I’ll have to take your word for it then, all the information I’ve found thus far from Reddit …and now XP OFF forums indicates 59 does have access to high warlord and grand marshal.
Though it’s supposedly much harder as there’s less high ranked players in the 50s to kill which is less honor per kill.
Actually, you’re right. 58 is the level that can’t get Rank 14. My mistake.

It never was about “skill”. BGs is a team game. It takes time and some form of social skill and networking. You’re not going to get in a pre-made let alone lead a pre-made if you are socially incompetent. As for individual 1v1, it’s rock paper scissors.

If u killed a marshall just means they aren’t good enough to get a heal from the healers. Anytime u get a marshall or field marshall to 50% they turn and run to seek the first available healer or lure u into there team so they can get assistance with the kill.
