Support a Clean RWF

Blizzard needs to step up and ban these RWF Cheaters, regardless of what Team they are on! If you can be caught on an official RWF Stream cheating and nothing happens then Blizzard is just telling the world its ok to Cheat. This is not ok!

That would be nice, but the marketing department won’t allow it.

Can a poor forum poster beg of thee for a crumb of context? Please sir?

On a Sunday? That’s asking a wee bit much.

Probably talking about Firedup abusing spellslinger

it happens even in the olympics.

those race walkers all had both feet in the air at one point or another lol

People from Echo and Method (two of the 3 teams contending the mythic world first) were banned for 4 days before the race opened for abusing the severed threads renown bug. Imfiredup (mage for Liquid the one NA team competing) was seen ‘abusing’ the way spellslinger (mage hero tree) works last night and hasn’t been banned.

Argument exists over whether using a spell the way it works is the same as exploiting a rep gain bug, and whether or not this is hypocrisy from blizzard/liquid given how vocal liquid was about not abusing the renown bug.

First, I’d be fine with seeing a ban for firedup as he clearly knew what he was doing was at least suspect. That being said this bug/exploit/issue WAS 100% reported in beta. Why did it take so long to fix?

Race to World First people are cheating? How so?

Maybe I’m misunderstanding tone, but feels like you’re painting this as an NA favoritism post, so I wanted to clarify something: only one person from Liquid (Maevy) was a part of the renown exploiting, and they were also banned for four days of Heroic Week. Considering how well informed the rest of your post is, feels pretty disingenuous to leave that out.

Agree with the other posters–Dratnos’ suggestion of the 4-hour mid-race ban is a banger.

I do support lifetime perma bans for these sorts for clear and obvious exploits and cheats but I know it’ll be a frozen day in hell/the maw when Blizzard does anything but a slap on the wrist for their treasured players…the mythic raiding tryhard and the esport orgs behind them.

Ya should cancel the whole thing end it

Philosophical question…if it was reported during Beta and Blizz didn’t say or do anything about it, is it still an exploit or does it become part of acceptable gameplay?

Blizz can’t end it. They have no control over it. Unless they just shut down mythic raiding altogether, the teams would still race to be the first to finish. It has never been a Blizz sanctioned event, but they are definitely more involved than they used to be.

It’s crazy to me how many people actually care about RWF.

Ensidia did nothing wrong!

Let’s go Method!

The real draw is how gross and creepy the players are along with the hypocritical drama they drum up every raid cycle.

“scandalous” is the word you’re looking for.

You’ve asked the right question.

the answer is…not an exploit. IF reported, if known, and it makes release it is reasonable to assume its allowed.

It be fixed otherwise.

See we had similar stuff in classic. 100’s to 1000’s of people said phasing can be games in vanilla redo beta.

Blizzard devs said…yeah we know its there. We have deemed it can’t be gamed. Its not somting that be reproduced to be (ab)used. So it stays.

Vanilla redo releases. Phasing was gamed hard since, yes, it was reproducable. and we had our first WFR (well second…WFR was 20 years go lol) in record time.

Crews geared in gamed phasing…and the assumed week or 2 become an hour or 2 lol.

When devs blow off warnings and leave crap in the game…its assumed good is the tl;dr.

That’s an interesting question, a good debate I think can be made for either side.

I would say it’s still exploiting, but the case can be made since Blizz was aware of it and didn’t change it firedup could say he thought it was allowed.

Of course that isn’t a good defense on his part because he didn’t start doing it until closer to the kill and as soon as someone called him out on stream he stopped like it was wrong.

I especially like the fans for either side, the real hardcore echo fans vs liquid fans.

If the other team even tries a new macro they call exploit… Of course their team can do no wrong so if they do the same thing the excuses come out.
