Title says it all. What are you doing Blizzard? You overtuned Sunfury. Spellslinger at least is in line with every other hero class. So because of your mistake in overtuning Sunfury you just nerf the entire spec as a whole?
Im done. You people are lazy. Great expansion. Horrible class tuning. The effort you people put into this is just… lazy beyond belief. Balance specific Hero classes instead of screwing over the entire spec as a whole.
Sunfury is getting nerfed to meteorites and burden for barrage and blast.
They need to buff Spellslinger to compensate for the nerfs.
What’s even the point of hero talents if we’re just going to be pushed to take one because it’s so much better than the other?
Doesn’t matter? Even after those nerfs SF was still like 10-15% ahead of SS. The entire spec is being punished because the company is too lazy to do it’s job.
Got it. They should buff the other specs to plus or minus a couple percentage points. It doesn’t feel fun getting nerfed.
I’ve played arcane since the burning crusade, pretty much exclusively, and it’s pretty much always sucked lol. Riding the wave of fire and frost but I never asked for those specs to be nerfed to Arcane’s level.

Yeah, wasn’t they supposed to nerf Sunfury and try to balance the Slinger? This change just make it seem like they don’t want Arcane at the top in any scenario whatsoever. Specially Arcane that it’s a spec that RARELY ever shines in any xpac, it’s sad to see that they just don’t want it to be good for a season or 2.

By now it’s obvious you have to reroll to a class that has close hero talent balance.
It’s evident they have no interest in balancing hero talents until the world race is over.
I can’t stand when people say this like it’s the holy grail answer to everything. Sorry it’s just not logical.
They need to balance classes around a relative area in order to make sure we aren’t absolutely stomping and trivializing content. Releasing patches with a class that is a massive outlier is something that happens. They can’t perfectly foresee how the classes will interact with the content in an omnipotent manner all the time. Content tuning is way harder to do than people seem to give them credit for. If we just blanket buff everyone up to Arcane Mage and Fury Warrior to keep you “feeling like you’re having fun”, we will have power creep out the whazoo, and content in which the challenge is watered down.
Those are barely a 2% nerf. Do the math
It’s honestly wild. So spellslinger is just trash now. Not to mention every other mage spec/ hero talents are trash. So let’s just bring arcan sunfury down with the rest of the mages. This is why I hate streamers. They literally just talked about how OP mage was all beta and nerfed it into the ground
Spellslinger was already trash and it’s obvious Blizzard has no desire to buff underperforming hero talent specs of classes that have an already performing alternative hero talent.
This was to be expected. They can’t even balance the spec talent trees, were you expecting hero talent balance as well when they can’t even balance capstones?
You act as if this isn’t the case already. Rare elites with 12 million hp die in less than 30 seconds.
And I believe you also missed the part where they are targeting nerfs to Arcane spells, not just Sunfury, effectively also affecting Slinger.
Can’t stand it? Then take it sitting down. I don’t believe I am the only one who feels we need to elevate underperforming specs, without neutering other specs. You sound like you’re new to Blizzard balancing where they don’t use those “knobs” they claim to have for surgical tuning, but rather sledge hammers then overcorrect a patch later.

What pisses me off is they decided to layer nerfs. This is all about a single trinket and if you don’t have it you’re just out of luck. Without that trinket we’re honestly not that far ahead of ele and enhancement or fury. Fury will hand us our asses if the pulls are big.
I think the issue between her and I is that I’m taking a logical stance from a game mechanics perspective, while she is taking more of an emotional stance from a player enjoyment perspective.
I think there’s value in both stances. I do find the way she spoke to me in response a bit frustrating though, but it is what it is. That’s the internet.
Blizzard has never liked arcane mage - we’re not even at the top of the meters
Blizz knows this:
hunters are always top bgs and mythics
monks are crazy good
paladins are insane in mythic plus
they dont get touched but arcane gets a nerf bat - blizz has never liked arcane to be a top performing spec
Was it? I’ve been doing well with it since expansion launch. It’s pretty good in delves as well even though switching to Frostfire Frost is better for keeping the enemies from beating me to death.
I’ve been enjoying spellslinger, it’s my jam!
But this subtle nerf does hurt us a little. For the content I’m going to be doing I should be fine.
Besides when it comes to getting a team invite I don’t think people can tell if you’re a slinger or fury, so they’ll still invite us
