I’ve run Antorus I don’t know how many times (that elevator is evil by the way) along with other old raids, but the weekly lockout makes it difficult to enjoy the process of gathering appearances at all. But what do I notice with Legion raids? Wakening Essence! Wakening Essence! WAKING FREAKING ESSENCE- I hate it.
Anyway, how about if you’re not going to get rid of the weekly lockout on legacy raids, you make those old currencies useful again? Let us be able to farm Wakening Essence and such for old gear for appearances? Or make class-specific drop rates better for expansions with no such equivalent currencies?
I think it needs to be improved. The game literally tries to keep you from getting mogs you need.
I know because I ran a solo run and then dual boxed two different classes and then triple boxed.
In every case the game gave me mostly the armor types I DIDNT need.
you’d literally have to quad box and run one a character of each armor type to NOT get screwed by the system from what I experienced.
I had a friend who ran Antorus for a leather vest piece from Varimathras for months before he was able to get it, and this was in almost 40 man raids with other people. The vest dropped only one other time (and he lost the roll to get it from the other person who wanted it).
Then there’ s the issue of wanting to reserve pieces. Goodness forbid you do!

it sounds like tinfoil hat but they legit want to make old content last as long as possible lol
i always run legacy content with a friend on a diff armour type class so that we can at least swap drops, but yeah i had a mythic tomb of sargeras where i was plate and he was leather and the first half of the raid we both only got cloth drops
I have been running all these old raids in the last couple of weeks. Between doing daily world quests and stuff in Shadowlands, I spend about 3 days running EVERY legacy raid. 1 for my rep/transmog MC, others just for pet achievements or mounts. I finally am able to get out of Firelands after this week cause I finally got that elusive mount. Still have a tough time running Legion raids in mythic solo, but can wipe the floor with them in heroic.
yeah…so you have to hope what you want drops…and then you have to be on the right class when it drops.
I get so many frikking awesome drops that I cant use.
I did Naxx and something else yesterday. Had probably a dozen really cool mog drops but they werent for my class…and the new mogs I did get were garbage nothings that no one cares about.
Bliz loves it like it is because you either 1) keep playing or; 2) pay for four subs to box four classes thru it and they make $60 a month plus four expansion sales.
Look I wanted to say it but you went and said it for me thank you… I wouldn’t mind it as much if it wasn’t 1) a WEEKLY lockout, 2) difficult to find people for the specific difficulty of the raid you want, 3) NEEDING more than 2-3 people to run Mythic Legion Anything, 4) you didn’t get all useless things almost all the time
Its definitely real because another player in here last year and I were swapping details about it. The game very definitely gives mostly drops you dont need.
I figure its probably so when raiders were doing the content and all four armor types would be playing it’d encourage trading or something…maybe.
But when youre wasting time farming mogs in old content its just annoying.

I could take a druid, mage and hunter in and Id get about 75%+ plate drops.
If I swapped some classes and cloth is what I didnt need, Id get about 75%+ cloth drops instead.
Its rigged against the player for certain.
Mog from legacy just needs to get revamped.
But I doubt they will make any changes to lock outs. It does come down to metrics. And Blizzard wants you to log in.
if you think about it, if you just got everything “free” and on first attempts, it’d be no fun.
But at least let me use all the useless currency I farm up from suffering to buy the thingies… Please I’m dying I want my Heroic Grim Inquisitor set for my warlock
funny thing about this one is ive yet to see anyone deny its a thing. All the comments I saw before Im pretty sure either agreed or just didnt realize it was a thing.
But then, I didnt realize it myself until I boxed to mog farm. Thats when I could tell it was literally keeping me from getting many of the gear types I could use.
Most people dont box so they probably wouldnt see any patterns
I don’t have a problem with legacy drops from Wrath to Legion. It’s Classic & BC that get annoying for me. Especially classic with only 2 drops per boss and being class specific rather than armor type or tokens. The only change I would like to see (will never happen) is to have an npc that can port you directly to a specific boss. Nothing like having to run all of Molten Core or Black Temple just because you need a mog from Ragnaros or Illidan lol.
I don’t even box much either but I usually have my bff and a few others along and we see the same deal no matter the run. I even joke sometimes, “Pretend you don’t want it and maybe it’ll drop”

I was…WAS…trying to get a leather set from there. Screw that. lol.
The thing I’ve noticed when running 2 or 3 man groups through is the odds of the same item dropping twice rather than 2 different ones seems to increase.
Having flashbacks to when I spammed Magister’s Terrace Heroic until the leather shoulders from Kael’thas dropped. Or grumbling at Naxx 10 man hoping the magical candle stick would finally drop
