Suggestion recipe Vial of the Sands on Cata vendor

Nope, its still very obtainable

Kinda weird to give it another source like that

It is obtainable but I wouldn’t call it very.

if you’re farming Tol’vir sites, you’re doing it wrong.

farm artifact crates, buy Tol’vir Fragments

Days? Bless your heart, hun. And no it should ABSOLUTELY not be on any vendor.

Me too! We had sweet good luck, mate.

I doubt they would put the recipe up via any other method unless they first removed it from archaeology. Which, given their disinterest in the profession, would not surprise me. In fact, I’ll not be surprised if they remove the profession entirely and put everything from it either on the Trading Post or via some other method.

fragments are sold in the AH too

There used to be a bit of a phasing hack where you could swerve back and forth between Uldum and Un’Goro or Silithus until it forced digsites to spawn in Uldum.

keystones, yes.

fragments are BoP.

i can’t recall a time when sites would just… move?

they sell vials of sand in the AH too

the recipe is BoP.

That’s why I mentioned this: I’ve read of tricks of using other xpac dig sites to farm crated artifact and trading for Tol’Vir stuff but that can still take days to find the recipe.

in between queues for LFG and raiding, I’ve gotten nearly 50 Tol’vir solves and still no recipe or even that AQ bug mount. I do all my archaeology in Broken Isle as it’s smaller area (less traveling) than other expansion and every solves can be crated and exchanged for Tol’vir fragments.

make sure you have cataclysm alchemy. i toiled for a long time before realizing this was a requirement to get it.

I laughed at that. There was a guy in our guild way back then that tried to farm that sword. He spent the entire expansion trying to get it and then left the game in disgust. Never to return. Once or twice a year I will see his Battletag ID online playing Diablo… lol

I spent 4 weeks at the end of SL, 2-3 hours a day every day farming the MoP dig sites and converting things to Tol’vir, it was like a day before DF dropped that I got my mount and about 40 jars along the way, no recipe.

I spent maybe 70 hours of just running dig sites, and once you do the MoP trick and run the same 10 over and over and over you just know where the dig is and can really power through, but alas, no recipe.

be sure to grab the archaeology quest from Dalaran too.
it’ll give you some other rewards while you chip away at the Tol’vir stuff.

Amateur. :stuck_out_tongue:

What’s the benefit here? If they make the recipe easy to get, the value of the mount drops to essentially the value of the mats and the recipe becomes equally devalued. If all you want is the mount, you can buy on the AH.

I still don’t have this. Despite dedicated grinding multiple times across the years. Even with Mantid grinding.

The part that really stings is that I had the original in my bank like a week before the Zul’Gurub rework annoucement, but I vendored it for space because “I’ll definitely see that again while farming for the mounts.” I did not see it again, saw both mounts, and lost both.

meanwhile i still can’t find the aquamarine mount from tol vir archaeology. then again, i’ve never seen this “zinroc” sword from troll archaeology either. starting to think its fake honestly.
