My former guild on Sulfuras is in complete denial about the state of the server lol.
You want to see some real denial? Go talk to Horde on Benediction. They really think everything is okay.

It’s very sad, for sure. Although, I feel like it almost doesn’t even matter this late in the expansion. At this point, I’m really just prepping for Wrath anyway, so all this really means to me is much easier questing/farming, no queues (pretty sure all who went to Faerlina recently are in for a rude awakening when Wrath hits) and even a chance at some “world first” achieves, lol. I’m gonna just wait and see what happens with server merges and what not by then, but if it’s still dead by the time I start getting my main characters to 80, then THAT’S when I’ll transfer.

Another healthy realm being unnecessarily burned down by players. What’s annoying is that they won’t go to any realm that needs people. They’ll just follow the herd to a mega realm. My friends moved from deviate delight to sulfuras btw. Now we’ll probably have to move AGAIN.

Blizz’s incompetence managing server populations led to this sadly. All non-mega server populations will be gone by WOTLK.

It depends on what you mean. Ally (and probably world pvp) is all but gone, but horde pop still seems quite healthy.
By comparison there are still at least 5 even smaller NA/OCE servers below Sulfuras yet above the announced consolidation line where things are much thinner.

yeah…but most if not all went from that single faction server to a mega single faction server Lol. It did start with the Alli running to Bene. Its all part of a way of thinking with taking the path of least resistance in the case of bene and faerlina. I followed my guild to faerlina. Its chaos and lfg is just a nonstop barrage of GDKP blah blah blah…If i didnt actually like the group of folks I play with, I would have quit a while ago.

I had a lot of fun on sulfuras in vanilla.
That Grizzly scarab lord fiasco was huge lol.
I don’t know how u can look at the trend line of sulf’s horde population and say it’s healthy lol
The only reason there are servers out there that have survived with smaller pops is because theyre PVE servers full of casual dads who have totally different expectations from the game than your average (formerly) high pop pvp server player
Funny thing is I was alliance on Sulfuras but after all the alliance left I decide to go too. I was ok with it being 66/33 horde but when it was 99/1 that was too much. But my horde server was dying out and I got a free transfer to Sulfuras and now horde is dying out as well.
It’s just a combination of blizzard implementing server transfers at the start of TBC, implementing layering so there aren’t any server queues anymore, and people willing to pay real money for even the slightest advantage in a virtual world.
I’ve decided I’m not going anywhere unless there is a free transfer somewhere. If I’m on a dead server, I’m on a dead server. All I really do is BGs and Arena for points so as long as I can get 1 other person for arena I’m good.

If I hit 70 and then xfer to a dead server do I instantly get server 1st achievements? Asking for a friend
