Hi, I’m considering subscribing to continue playing WoW. Since my income isn’t steady, I’m wondering what happens if I let my subscription lapse. Will I still be able to enter the game and play, like on the free trial (without gaining XP)? Or will I be locked out until I can pay for the next month?
Its probably best for you to buy a block of game time instead of a sub, because if you forget to cancel the sub will auto renew and could mess with your finances with an unsteady income.
For the second part if you dont have game time all character over lvl 20 will be locked but you will be able to play and level toons up to lvl 20 at which point they will stop gaining experience.
Ill edit if i can find the link with the ither restrictions for accounts without gametime.
Ok, thanks for the info! So getting into the game to farm gold and buy a WoW token at the auction house to keep my subscription going isn’t an option, if I can’t farm enough gold to keep it active during one month.
Thats correct, if you cant make the gold to buy a token in that month then the higher level toons who are your gold makers will be inaccessible, and starter account toons are capped at 10G and cant use the AH.
If you do add gametime i wish you luck making gold for more time. Iv heard that running solo through WoD raids on a few toons can make you a good amount of gold if you do all the difficulties on each toon.
If your max level character is level 20 when your paid time starts, it’s highly unlikely you will be able to farm anywhere near the amount needed to buy a token within a month.
Theoretically, it’s possible but even then, it would need a player versed in the ins and outs of the AH and with high level friends in the game to help farm.
