Last playthrough I did, I abused Giant Strength pots and did a Monk. Was whenever they did that hardcore mode that rewarded the golden dice. Spent the late game straight up deleting everything.

I need to circle back and try the new subclasses out. Valheim into WoW has done immeasurable damage to my backlog pile up, though. Only just getting around to KCD2 atm.

You could technically have all depending how you make Tav or Durge.

Yeah but I never pick races for power.

I wasn’t saying pick races for power. Classes and items help (eg; there’s a bow that gives fire and frost resistance).

So I got drunk and bought what’s being marketed as an Aztec Death Whistle.

Y’all. This is going to be outlawed within 5 years. You can cause a terrifying block wide blood curdling banshee screech with ease.

I decided to let 'er rip and dogs were barking from every yard that had one, a laborer across the steet just panicked and ran to his truck, my gf came running down assuming bloody murder had happiness in our garage.

Fam.

This is as advertised;

Good God I’m probably going to get arrested. This is just weapon’s grade mischief.

He refuses to celebrate September 11 even disguised as a celebration of September 21st(Century)!

I am a big fan of Wyll, Karlach and…. Someone else depending on plot.

Astarion is reprehensible but if you take a good path he actually has a really nice hero’s arc. Also I just cannot resist his catty vampire shenanigans;

Lae’zel can become probably the best written character in the game. Going from brainwashed child soldier to cosmic revolutionary. Same goes for Sheart who’s really just got a sad, no win story.

Gale I like purely because he’s the most well mannered of the bunch. Plus he was essentially groomed by an eternal being since childhood so yeah he’s a little off.

Wyll I’d probably most want as a friend IRL but he’s probably the least interesting. He’s a novel concept- take your standard LG Paladin but make them a Fiend Warlock. But he really doesn’t have much to do until Act 3 and it’s probably the weakest story of the bunch.

Karlach’s great but her best ending only really works with Wyll and/or your PC if you’re channeling the Doomslayer. In which case she does have a cautiously hopeful epilogue. Otherwise she’s the sacrifical squid or kindling.

My biggest gripe with the whole story is that you can rescue Omeluum. Who’ll be just chilling in Bauldr’s Gate during the 11th hour when it’s decided you absolutely positively need an illithid on your side to win. And you can’t go ā€œYo matter of fact I got a Mindflayer homie, let’s grab him right quickā€.

And rescuing him is super difficult so I thought when I did I’d fulfilled the quota for the secret good ending. *After 15 god damn tries no less. And no he just never comes up. You’ve an illithid shaped problem and the good illithid who owes you his life just never comes up.

Legitimately the only thing I hate about that game.

I utterly hated and despised Astarion for two thirds of the game. But if you go the good route, he becomes your truest brother.

Now I always use him.

Second to Karlach’s breakdown- which is an Oscar worthy preformance that rivals anything I’ve seen - peroid.

My favorite line delivery is;

ā€œYou’re right… I can be better than him…. BUT I’M NOT ABOVE ENJOYING THISā€.

Iconic performances all around but Neil Newbon really shines. Because he gives absolutely convincing lines as everything from Astarion being a defeated sniveling maggot to him being your true love to him now ascending to utter super villain status.

Although Samantha BƩart still takes the lead, ever so slightly. Everybody crushed it but that Karlach breakdown monologue when she finally drops the happy go lucky act. Just chills.

I also just love Good Astarion’s epilogue. He’s a hero now. Turning up like Batman to eat rapists and murders on the mean streets of Baldur’s Gate.

Only disappointment was how little the freed vampire spawns come up. Idk I’d kind of hoped he’d become Governor of an Underdark vampire city. He has established experience as a Magistrate so. Kinda thought that’s where that would go.

One of LZ’s endings is the best. Because she’ll stick around in Faerun to be your common law warrior wife raising an adopted Githyanki son. And I want a whole DLC based on that.

Because her Chaotic Neutral rear vs my Neutral Good Bard’s sounds hilarious.

ā€œYou see my son we must aid the weak istik because they are plagued by worthy threats, but do not ask them for rewardā€

ā€œā€¦ Well don’t ask them that’d be gosh but ya know if they’re feeling generous… also hire you a wizard that can detect magic in these things. You’d be surprised how frequently a chicken farmer’s rusty sword they hand you can actually freeze with every cut or some BS upon inspection. Which means it sells for wayyyyy moreā€

The Emperor does the same thing.

Spymasters like him from Baldur’s Gate, Luthen Rael from Andor and the various Masters of Whispers in Fiction(like Jurah from Guild Wars and Varys from Game of Thrones) are such entertaining Characters.

People like Spymasters and Schemers(like Littlefinger and SkekSil the Chamberlain) for a reason! They are the best parts of any political drama some might say(aside from those who derail any plans for whatever reason like King Joffrey and the Skeksis Emperor).

Also among interesting Characters from DnD are Elminster, Morte, Ravel Puzzlewell, the Nameless One and the Transcendent One.

Yeah but not to spoil if you dig deep into his story he was actually enslaving all his allies. To a truly disturbing level. Even making them cheer him in private as if his thrall had the capacity to celebrate.

Astarion is just a thirsty boy who thanks to my leveling could out fox the Predator in terms of hunting. He can certainly be naughty if he wants to but he has no capacity to turn people into his mind ducked playthings.

I like to imagine my Astarion is more doing this;
