Legit though, this new outsourced advertising agency is AWFUL at their job.

Alien: Earth is pretty… okay.

Peacemaker continues to rule.

Also can I say I just hate the PvP meta, so god damn much? Now I main Priest and it’s usually at worst an A tier class. I haven’t played an expansion in 8 years where Light or Disc wasn’t crushing it.

But you know where this falls to crap? DPS. I really love Unholy DK and Destro Lock and Subtlety Rogue and Marksmanship Hunter and it’s up to the winds of fate if they’ll even be viable from this to that season.

Personal skill can account for a lot but this game has a habit of saying F You to your favorite playstyle quite frequently.

And I get this happens in PvE but learning how to counter, outsmart and manuever around the 30 something varieties of player types again when your playstyle gets reworked is a touch more difficult then doing competitive simon says.

some of the kids were complaining about what apparently passes for a leveling clown suit in FF14, so I busted out my very first WoW character, abandoned at what was level 29 because I really wanted to be able to turn into a bird and shoot lasers at things with the next patch.

An understated part of Druid’s appeal even during the really bad old days of launch WoW was that you didn’t have to deal with the clown suit. Some people made fun of Tauren cat form for looking scraggly but not me.

…I’m tempted to dust him off and start playing him hard but using this exactly as his mog.

I got on a tangent and rewrote a 14th century folk ballad called “The Unquiet Grave” for Azeroth. It was pretty fun to do, honestly.

You are a creative individual.

Didn’t expect to be hyped by anything from Marvel but their animation crew crushed it with X-Men '97 and this is exactly the kind of shlock that gets me excited;

The hyper metal riffs? The hyper violence? Spiderman tearing off like a dozen heads by the root?

Sold.

I am glad blizzard posted an official Information Round-Up… but it is very sad that they bungled their release so bad they needed one to set the record straight.

Transmog will have outfit slots like SWTOR, not just auto-change to situation

Between this and housing, SWTOR’s last remaining feature of note is GSF… and it’s not starfighter battles but skyriding is really fun and also is flying so. I don’t see myself ever returning to that game now.

I liked the transmog system in SWTOR, Im glad it’s coming to WoW.

Most of my characters have a set transmog they always use, so that would be great.

There were times where I wouldn’t wear an upgrade until I got to ‘mog it - that ethereal transmog toy solved that issue.

Something I’d love, is if Blizzard did a skyriding but for ground mounts. I didn’t really play the undermine patch, but I’ve heard the DRIVE stuff was kinda like that. Would love it if it came to all mounts like skyriding.

I think for a lot of reasons DRIVE doesn’t export to the rest of the ground game as well as Skyriding does – I think if they do that work, it will see less use. But it’d be cool and I do enjoy DRIVE.

I really didn’t care for DRIVE at all. Maybe part of that was much of Undermine was narrow streets and tight corners. I wonder how I’d feel about it in a more open space. But like, trying to DRIVE through Stormwind for example sounds like a nightmare.

In a more open space I think it’d end up being a lot like Mario Kart World, where the open world is a fantastic PvE design choice while you’re exploring the setting, but you won’t have that many opportunities to actually test the advanced trick capabilities. Relatively speaking, Undermine is more of a race track. (Emphasis on relative, it’s probably closer to an intermission track in Mario Kart World overall.)

Stormwind’s definitely not big enough though, the bridges don’t have enough room for drifting. The list of cities it might work in is probably IF, SM, Exodar, Org, then all of the ones from BFA on.

Ultimately I think if DRIVE became the standard for ground mounts in general you run into issues about what that means for exploits where PvE and PvP instances where mounting is allowed, and it starts cannibalizing Skyriding as a mechanical niche.

Right now you have a design space where you can have an expansive vista with some technically complicated movement, or a relatively tight area with precision movement. DRIVE forces all outdoor areas to require the former only.

DRIVE is tons of fun and I hope see it used elsewhere. But it really only works for a motor vehicle. Be pretty weird drifting a horse.

Fixed that for you.
Notice… I’m not one of those who likes drifting. Just like I don’t like skyriding.

What I am most excited for with the new transmog is it is aware of player forms. Drakthyr transmog will be way better to work with.

When it comes to the void story vs the fel story (I know that’s probably overly broad categorizations) what does everyone feel more attached to / enjoy more? Like Sargeras and the Burning Legion and their fel stuff (or any plot threads generally attached to it) in comparison to Xal’atath, the Old Gods, Void Lords, and their plot threads with their void stuff.

I’m curious because I’ve seen some of the “copied homework” jokes recently and I’m curious if people are turned off by the void at this point / not vibing with the story on that front. I definitely think I enjoy the Burning Legion more as a story, but I suppose it’s less because I think they’re a better villain than Xal’atath / the Old Gods (better than the void lords though), and more because they didn’t have a strict one person protagonist like we’ve had Alleria be and that’s somewhat bored me.

I prefer the void story, but like. I uh, have never particularly liked Warcraft’s lore. I tend to hang around these forums because I like to roleplay in MMOs and I need to know the lore to do it well, but my investment in the fel story was not high and my investment in the void story is probably very slightly higher.

I think void is probably a worse story in-continuity because it is retreading old ground, and the follow-up act always has to do much better than the opening act or it ‘loses ground’ with the audience. But I am more invested in Xal and her defeat than any of our previous big bads and I am mildly positive towards Alleria, while I actively have despised most “focal heroes” we’ve had. Generally being the focal character tends to clobber your writing and she’s taken the hit less bad than most. (c.f. Tirion Fordring, who I was not really sad to see go in the end despite having been initially excited for him.)
