Yep, this honestly solidified the whole feeling of 'LOOK AT ALL THIS NEW AND COOL STUFF" (That we totally didn’t forget to add to the game when we meant to…) for this entire patch.
That’s so sad. I was so excited to brush off my beloved Worgen for some cool Gilnean content. I’m almost glad I chose to do it on Naovi because I think the disappointment would’ve been worse on Naimira, I even gave her a cool Harvest Witch mog in anticipation. womp
It’s doubly sad when I think of all the potential that Gilneas has. The aesthetic of Gilneas is so unique and gorgeous and to just squander that for literally nothing is extremely sad.
Yeah, I’m debating de-worgen-ifying my hunter. The half-baked nature of this whole thing is just way too downer for me to stick with it.
It bothers me, because I swapped from my Horde main to focusing on the Alliance, because Blizzard ruined my Horde for me. Now I’m just getting the start of a similar decline for the Alliance?
This is just the final nail in the coffin of the mistreatment of the worgen since Cata. This half baked, and spineless quest line was just the icing on the cake.
This is the same company who told worgen players they suck and only humans are special during the Worgen heritage quest. They don’t give a damn and never did
I’ll still be hanging on to my Worgen for nostalgia’s sake. Thankfully her ‘story’ leans more heavily on being a human Gilnean with a Worgen ‘form’ among her other druidic forms so it doesn’t so much as harm the fantasy of my character as it does leave it wanting.
I can completely understand jumping ship though. Worgen have been treated just like another flavor of human for so long, it’s almost dumb that they even bothered to make them Worgen in the first place. The thing we picked them for, which makes them interesting and unique not only neglected in the story setting, but propped up as something that the PC (WHO PICKED WORGEN) should be ashamed of.
Not to mention, female Worgen often get shafted when it comes to armor models too, heck I don’t even know that they fixed the Druid Season 2 gloves so they’re not floating beside the player model…
Not just being nice… those sound interesting… what’s a “primal” cat though?
You do what you need to do, heck if you need to change your name and all that I’ll figure you out again eventually… Just don’t let the Night Elf’s racial “eternal rage” get to you too badly? Even if you probably can relate, understandably so, right now.
Maybe this is blizzards idea of bringing balance? Make us miserable and hate all of the factions? Not that I needed a reason to dislike the alliance… makes void signs out of spite.
I don’t have a Worgen that high of a level myself, but this has bothered me for a while. I’d imagine if they ever remembered there were Void Elves beyond the Blonde with Mortal Fetish… they’d probably be doing everything they could to hate on us as well… … let me guess… I’m not aware of something…
Oh well at least the new Dreanei skin is nice and looks good on my alliance shaman… now if only I could make them into a Void Elf… More damage? Uninterruptable casts? Yes please.
That sounds cool. Also, neat use of the form shifts.
That’d be neat… I’m not looking forward to the day of Dragoncraft though… my lone self will be watching everyone else launch into the sky and I’ll be all… “Well time to start walking.” Which I will be doing as much as possible out of spite for forcing me to use Dynamic flight when War Within launches.
I’m leery of what they might do to my beloved Dragonhawks to make them work with Dynamic Flight.
It’d be nice of Shamans could get a spirit flight form… and could choose Dragonhawk forms for their Spirit animal form…
The War Within will actually allow you to switch between Dynamic and Static Flying (Static being the old world version of flying). So you should be good on that end. I plan on using it once it comes out
I’m hoping they changed their minds, but last I saw you had to finish the story (and hit max level) before you could use Static flying. Last I saw they were even defending this by claiming that the lack of precision control of Dynamic Flight was a feature… since it made things harder… sure punish those of us with crappy reflexes.
I know there’s a lot of people who like it, and I’m happy they like it. I just don’t. Beyond the speed it brings it’s just a downgrade in my eyes.
This is why I my Worgen is tied in with Karazhan and a witch’s curse. Well that and 'cos I wanted him to be French because A. My undead rogue is already Gilnean and B. Beast of Gévaudan reference.
I’ve said before it really feels like Blizz didn’t want to make the Worgen and rather than trying to make do sorta just pretends they don’t exist.
It sounds like they did change their minds for TWW anyway. For DF I can understand, but since more flying mounts are getting Dynamic flight capabilities next expac, it makes sense to give us a toggle for those who like the new flying and those like us who love the old flying
Plus Dynamic flight is being downgraded to 80% speed I think. Dynamic flying will be slightly faster than static in TWW but not by much
IIRC that’s mainly an old world thing, the zones were made with walking in mind so weren’t that big. Maybe they plan to carry that forward… I don’t know.
Regardless, we will see. As long as I go in a straight line, I should be fine, lots of moving around and chancing directions though and I’m getting a headache…
AHAHA. Bye, Moonguard! Time to fill my pockets with odd character concepts I may never play, but must HAVE FOR MY VERY OWN.
I have now made a really cool man’ari rogue for weird eavesdropping and generally being awkward (she’d love to help but she hates everyone and everything and doesn’t know how people work), a blood elf dark ranger monk who is trying to control HIS DARKNESS with calming arts and fisticuffs, a human warrior lady to be the Generic Human Warrior we all deserve, and a tauren paladin (who may be a warrior) whose major character traits so far are A) flowers in hair YES and B) bonk with totem mace.
