Well obviously we do not get a lava eel mount.

The lava eels ate all the lava eels. There are no lava eels remaining to become mounts.

Hey guys how’s life treating you so far?

My condolences for your situation, I hope that it improves and everything works out better for you. You deserve the best and it’s terrible for someone to treat you like this. I’m not sure why you’re being targeted, though as mentioned before in this thread it might either be due to intimidation or prejudice. If you get fired, and if you can afford it, I also recommend getting in contact with a lawyer so that some sort of justice can happen. Please update us on the situation if you can; if you do get let go, atleast you have years worth of experience that can be put on a resume, which should be impressive for similar types of work.

I had a similar thing happen to me at a job I had for more than two years. My boss turned out to be a narcissistic who thought he could push people around without getting resistance. The first warning sign was when I first met him. There’s a King Of The Hill episode about this. The fish-hand handshake; a loose and weak handshake, which is a subtle sign of disrespect.

I don’t want to give too many personal details, but it was a fun job to have (except on slow days) at a still-popular place that a lot of people would desire to be employed at. There was a small employee group though, which lead to an insular mentality that sometimes created infighting due to poor discipline from higher up. If there was conflict between employees that was actually dealt with, they would be talked to separately without the person being informed that the other had been talked to as well. This gave the appearance that someone might not have been disciplined when they should be. Though usually in these situations the employees were left to argue amongst themselves.

A big problem was that there was a lack of professionalism all around. The employees cared far too much for themselves instead of the customers, and many times they’d get annoyed and disrespect the customers if employees were approached with problems. This occasionally lead to the business getting bad reviews online, which made the owner really angry and start ranting about the customer; to him, his business can’t be criticized because the customers aren’t business owners thus their criticisms aren’t valid. Employees in our official group chat would then mock these reviews instead of thinking on how to improve. Though unlike them, I cared a lot about the customers and would help them when I could, being friendly in every interaction even in unusual circumstances when I’d be disrespected; because of this, I was able to persuade some customers to remove their negative reviews, and people would ask where I was if I wasn’t there.

I was eventually targeted, and I think it’s because I didn’t have their same group mentality. Small mistakes I’d make would be taken out of proportion. Things that were supposed to happen, that everyone who had the same job as me were supposed to take care of, had the blame solely put on me when it wasn’t done, which lead to me being micromanaged. Sometimes I would randomly be told without further clarification, “We’ve gotten complaints about you”, which I know wasn’t true because when people did actually complain about me there would be a meeting in the office about what happened where we would go over it in detail. One Christmas a Naughty Or Nice list was put on a board, and my name was on the naughty list with a bunch of asterisks next to it (when asked about this, I was only told “Santa is watching”); all the employees were given official shirts with the word “Employee” on the back except for me, as the shirt I was supposed to get was given to another employee’s husband who never worked there (an employee who, in clear view of everyone, actually attacked a customer for flirting with her husband’s friend and was never reprimanded for it), and sometimes when I’d come in to hangout on my days off I had to wear a customer wristband when no one else had to.

People would get replaced semi-frequently, either due to employees eventually quitting or getting let go (like when personal problems would be brought into the workplace, employees who became couples breaking up and squabbling, or even when one of them OD’d in the bathroom), which lead to nepotism. More new employees were either friends of current employees or people who worked at the owner’s other business which made them think they were better than everyone else. Disrespect to customers increased, as a couple of these employees would be hostile from the start. I got yelled at by one of them in front of a group of customers for no reason, assumedly because she was having a worse day then usual. It came to a head around this point.

Presidential elections were coming up and the boss is big on politics. At the end of nearly every day we’d have to listen to him talk about politics past closing time or some other happening that occured in the news. He asked an employee if they had seen the Dave Chappelle Netflix specials, who said they didn’t care about them and wasn’t interested, which lead to rambling about how funny and great Dave Chappelle is, then on another night another employee was shouted at for disagreeing about Israel. One night a newer employee from the UK was asked what they thought about Brexit and why “the liberals” in England are traitors for not supporting it, then started talking about conspiracy theories related to Democratic candidates. As someone who thinks politics don’t belong in the work place, I was frustrated but kept my mouth shut.

That night, I made a post on Facebook basically saying that people who don’t know what they’re talking about shouldn’t act like experts and I called the conspiracy theories nonsense, without naming names. This resulted in my boss and his wife making comments on my posts with snarky walls of text giving proof of his claims. Next time I went to work, there was another meeting at the end of the day, where I was once again talked down to and was told that I threatened my boss(?). By this time, I had recognized patterns in what my boss would say when I would be talked down to like this. I predicted what would come out of his mouth, and I was right.

Like a few times before, he told me that if I hadn’t worked for him he would kick my “rear” (actual word censored by the forums). Having had enough, I told him that I didn’t care if he was my boss or not and if he wanted to fight we could right then and there. I was promptly fired and banned from the establishment. Being fired was something I was constantly afraid of, as he had made jokes about firing me in between the occassions of chastising me, which lead to more than one anxiety attack, but I felt pretty proud in that moment. I stood up for myself and defended my values.

Anyway, my apologies for the long rant. Your situation reminded me of that and I never explained it anywhere before. I think back to it sometimes and how that’s given me the conviction to not let anyone walk over myself or others, especially employers. Sucks to have a lot of love for a place only to have that enjoyment be ruined by jerks.

So I couldn’t help but notice that there’s at least one Sin’dorei Illidari among the Dragonscale expeditioners. Does this confirm that the Illidari have actually like
joined the factions ? Meaning, there currently are Illidari within the forces of the Horde and Alliance ?

So on the onehand algorithms ate probably the deathknell of civilization as we know it. You’re constantly being recorded and tracked by devices that have an AI actively trying to figure out your hopes, dreams and fears. Truly, man made horrors beyond our comprehension.

But on the otherhand, it’s actually pretty good at it’s task, as I’ve zero idea what this says but the language of rat patting truly is universal;

Imagine just a giant hand from the sky coming down and giving you free skritches. Such is the illustrious life of a fancy rat.

Yeah, I think so.

Since there’s no demons around. I guess the Illidari much like the Death Knights are mercenaries.

Yikes  I had a root canal quite some time ago but I definitely recall it being a haze of a bloody faced blur. It took FOUR hours and the only television channel that worked at my dentist had Oprah on for what felt like an eternity but now I’m wondering if that was the drugs
anyway, Hope you’re feeling better soon!

I think the time and severity of root canals boil down to how many roots your tooth has. I recently had a root canal on a molar it only took under an hour with local freezing and it’s because my root doesn’t make a normal X but a C instead.

I have TMJ issues so when they have to stick a needle right in my jaw joint that’s usually laced with prolonged trauma for me. One time they didn’t do the freezing right, because I clencth my jaw when stressed, the first time and they had to stick me with needles EIGHT times. They finally told me high anixety levels can cause anesthetics to just not work, so I got stuck with those eight needles to the jaw joint, with no effect.

If you’re ever feeling incompetent, take solace in knowing I’ve somehow misplaced my mouse and mousepad.

I’ve a wired backup should push come to shove but I had to abandon the search to get to work. I’ve no earthly idea what I could’ve done with it.

Did you throw it across the the room while doing brawls last night?

You may have threatened to do so, especially after having such incompetent teammates.

Turns out it was, you’ll never believe this, on my desk.

Speaks volume about my sterling organizational skills that the last place I looked was the sensible, normal place for it to be.

Just as an update: The meeting is in another hour and a half from now.

For those interested in my mopey, sad work drama, if I don’t have another update posted from the meeting in two and a half hours, you can safely assume it either went well or well enough that I did not get sent home with no job.
