Gotta say that Dahmer show is actually pretty solid.
I do like how it actually follows the victim’s stories and shows how an incompetent justice system tinged with racism and homophobia allowed for a vicious animal to prowl the streets despite having more than a few outright tell them something was decidedly not right at the Dahmer residence.
I’ve a distaste for true crime as I think many of them play fast and loose with real tragedies. I positively adore horror. Slasher movies, gore, masked killers in the night, that whole shtick. But I like it when it’s pretend. Trying to turn the actual waking nightmares suffered by very real flesh and blood human beings into ghost stories pisses me off.
But this actually seems to make an attempt to be tasteful. How successful it succeeds in doing so isn’t my place to say but I at least didn’t get the bad taste in my mouth I usually get with these.

My point to him was that we should be amplifying WoC voices in the community and in the same conversation I brainstormed with him on ways Blizzard could actually make meaningful changes but he glazed over that while he was taking screenshots to frame and blackmail me in case I ever turned on him… like I turned on you. Yeah was making the rounds in my horror circles and checked it out. And I think it does a good job of illustrating what a tremendous failure of the justice system. More than one person escaped and neighbors complained about the vile smells. Nobody really looked into it though as he preyed on marginalized communities.
One bit I was already aware of was how one guy escaped naked and was incoherent as he was drugged. And the cops let the serial killer take him back in as he just said oh this is my boyfriend he’s just drunk yadda yadda. Like the cops handed him a victim.

That compounded with your accusations on Twitter that everyone in the story forum was beneath you. It made a negative impression. Ignoring discussions about racism that didn’t benefit your arguments, like the interesection between racism and sexism. You wanted to be the voice against racism in the forum, but i don’t think it should be you. I think WoC should be the ones with the open dialogue with Blizzard. That’s my personal opinion.
I don’t think you realize how much you may have ostracized a part of the community by not letting them have a voice. yes I am talking about myself in part here. You are part of this Forum endemic that silences female player voices and you have no interest in working to change that.
I realize now that I should never have complaind to Doness about this, if you were willing to have an open communication I could have brought this to you directly.
