I’m just wondeing what the fuss is about. I doubt with the totality of my being they’re going to have the Nelf capitol moved to another region and turn all of Ashenvale and Darkshore into a Horde zone.

Remember when people were convinced they were going to do that to Tirisfal? I do because laughing at their shattered delusions was the most fun I’ve had with this game in ages.

An actual more cogent worry would be the Nelves are going to get like a world sprout and both them and the Forsaken are going to have an under construction capitol for the foreseeable future.

Southern California is struggling with wildfires.

Currently doing 1k Needles, Badlands and Wetlands.

Doing this all as prologue for characters I’m coming up with is actually quite fun. 1k Needles has just a bizarre start though.

You land in a pitched battle between the Tauren and Grimtotem traitors. Then you’re given the last canoe out for your bravery. Which is being paddled by a seemingly blind Tauren wearing nothing but a pirate hat and his underwear.

I’m wondering if that’s ever going to come up again. Probably not. But as starters go that’s certainly the strangest I’ve seen.

I enjoyed Classic but I came back to Live to get that Deathwing Mount. And suddenly realized everything got better.

I do wish though they could find a middle ground between Classic’s more deliberate pace and Modern’s more frantic one.

Like I really enjoyed having to actually plan my attack. Mind Control, Sight and Soothe - parlor tricks really that I very occasionally have use for in PvP - were suddenly vital tools. I’d use them to reduce mobs from pulls, peak around corners and soften up meatier targets.

And I think the best way to emulate this would be to give more NPCs actual abilities beyond auto attack. Serious ones like stuns, interrupts, and actually severe debuffs.

The main part of Classic lost to time was the tangible danger of the world. Quests were actually perilous. You couldn’t just storm in guns blazing on your own and hope to succeed. You had to actually engage with the content.

And that’s above all what I miss. World content feels more a formality to get you to the actual game which is centered entirely around instanced content. Rather than dungeons and BGs being a final exam for the skills you’ve sharpened outside.

With everything going on, if it isn’t the End of Days, it’s pretty close.

From my point of view, it could just be Mother Nature is tired of man’s arrogance and is trying to teach us a lesson.

You know, that we aren’t the masters of this world, nature is.

Post-Cata Thousand Needles is bizarre. It’s fun, but is really all over the place in terms of story direction. I miss Classic TN, it has a majesty to it that we haven’t really seen in a zone since.

It doesn’t. He’s just nakie ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’m not talking about him being old. Ol’ Chuck has always been a pretty hard lookin’ ticket. I much prefer the Queen on my obnoxiously coloured money. Someone at my work said we’d call them ‘Chuck Bucks’ and now I can’t get that out of my head.

Is the Alliance dead yet?

Thank god for the ignore feature. Only thing is, though, when I type my name in the search bar of the forum, I can still see ignored trolls quoting me.

I’m just loving that you get a boat. Although now I’m a little miffed at BFA because I figured the lack of high seas action was due to no boating mechanics. But that boat handles just fine. Figure you could make it a vehicle with two other players manning canons. That could be neat.

It’s still sad to me we had two countries known for their navies at war and you only ever see the aftermath of a fight. Would’ve been neat to have at least one battle where you could hop on a gunboat or take to the skies for a bombing run or stay on the flagship to man the canons / fight off people who boarded.

I kinda loved the little ‘boat flightpath’ feature in BfA, but I felt like it was unfinished? I thought it added a nice little touch to Kul Tiras but didn’t really serve as much in the long run. I would have doubly loved it if it had been player controlled!

Something MoP did better. A scenario where you participate in a naval battle.

Some people in countries subjugated by the British empire are celebrating her death instead of mourning.

I mean yeah. People kinda forget that quite a few countries are younger than her reign and they did not get their independence by asking nicely. The Irish, Kenyans, Indians and quite a few more have 0 reason to be sad about this.

And they have every right to celebrate. The British monarchy has a lot skeletons they keep buried and they done some terrible things, even during her reign.

Good.

There should be a discussion about decolonization every time there’s a new monarch. One can mourn the queen as an individual and still be antimonarchist.

Personally I just find the ceaseless news coverage over that monarchy anytime one of them sneezes to be completely bewildering.

That’s King George’s great, great, great granddaughter. What in the name of guns and cheeseburgers are we doing simping for them? There was this whole war for the express purpose of not having to give a crap about what that specific family thinks or does.
