I turned 38 today. yup I would have been 15-17 in the early 2000’s.

It’s probably because you’re Italian. There’s just something extra special about Italian men, they were all raised right.

I turn 30 on this year’s Halloween. I’m going full hypertrophic about hair loss and hairline.

I’ve been assured by my stylist and a doctor but as a fopish Italian man that’s a very important feature. I can’t grow a beard so I just twisht my hair girlishly as one of my idle thinking animations. In between or in tandem with my pacing or smoking ones.

By the by hoping to calm down. I got my prescription back after dealing with a weird shrink who I expressed my self medication troubles with. This was a mistake.

He insisted I try months without them, after months without them, and my problems were the alcohol and coffee. Which I’d been using to self medicate as I rationed what was left of my pills after my last psychiatrist booked it for in patient care.

And like I can literally point to a pattern of my life being a chaotic mess and me getting back on the candy and within months getting my ish together. My therapist originally suggested I go back on them and God bless that angel for going to bat for me twice now. Because once you admit you abuse drugs it’s over the counter stuff and good vibes for you until the end of time.

It takes a few days for me to build my tolerance back up so im just sort of Daffy Ducking my way around town. Because this is like a molecule away from m£th. But I actually teared up when I started drafting some post ideas because my dopamine receptors are being strong armed into behaving so I don’t get bored and wander off mid sentence just constantly.

Feels like this. Always the cartoon demon but at leaat I can get it to shut up. Always there though;

He’s never visited GD

Oh I’ve. I’m just am baffled why anyone would use it. Because it’s basically a censorsd /b/ with some /pol/ sprinkled in. And those are at least fun for the same reason going to a zoo is. GD is more like going to a particularly rowdy Rainforest Café.

If GW thinks this is satire, they’re lying to their audience. The Imperium of Man is constantly portrayed as heroic, or at least the best of the many bad systems in the 40k universe. If you don’t believe me, watch any 40k trailer that came out in the past 7 years. That’s not satire. That’s glorification of space-age knights in shining armor who defend the world against intergalactic threats.

I mean, do you think these people are supposed to be considered heroic?

Like yeah I’ll take them over face eating giant insects but it doesn’t strike me as a nice place to live.

I’m not talking about Starship troopers. I’m talking about the striking discrepancy between GWs claim and the visual language of their game trailers. The trailers below are not funny tongue-in cheek recruitment videos with ridiculous lines such as “To fight the bugs we must understand the bug” while handing out machine guns to children. Those trailers express fascination with sci fi tech and apocalyptic battles.

I mean yeah in a multimedia franchise that large you’re going to be all over the place tonally.

But in the actual lore of the setting I think the Salamanders are the only unambiguously good SPHESS MEHREEN chapter. And even that’s an obvious bit because they’re blackrock humans with leering red eyes and a fetishistic love of arson.

But they actually genuinely care about human life which is more than can be said of pretty much anything else in the setting.

This is the Story Forums, however, the game is more than just the story. Many gameplay discussions unfortunately must take place in GD.

Since you’re a PvPer, perhaps take a look at the Arena forums, if you haven’t already. It makes GD look good.

I miss doing battlegrounds, even though I’m terrible at pvp :stuck_out_tongue:

Tbh I actively dislike modern Arena. Has it’s moments but in the BC days your rating was just for matchmaking purposes. You didn’t need a certain score to purchase the gear.

That more than anything needs to go. Because it just kills any room for experimentation or casual play. Everyone just goes with the safest specs, talents and team comps as a result. Which makes for very formulaic, samey matches where the winner is frequently determined in the opening salvo.

Which is boring.

Then the end began. The bell began to toll, dark sonorous sounds that caused the sky to crack and rain to fall. Thirteen times it tolled. Each ring of that terrible bell made the clouds darker and the rain thicker, until the streets flooded leading sewer rats to emerge from their hiding to gnaw and nip at the overworld inhabitants, spreading disease and death like wildfire.

That stopped in Season 3 for weapons and shoulders. It ended up leading to the good staying good, and cookie-cutter combos dominating the meta so much that mirror matches were common.

They’re removing rating-locked gear in Dragonflight. It was always ridiculous. You needed rating to get gear, but you couldn’t get rating without already having gear, since you would face overgeared players at low rating. It was like forcing normal raiders to fight mythic bosses.

Because gear has always been the bait. In order to keep the entire PvP scene alive with all it’s toxicity and hate, you need to entice players into a setting where they are the content. Why would your average player join a battleground if they are going to get spawn-camped and openly insulted by some inbred Xbox-Live mouth-breather?

Honestly I wonder if Blizzard always advocates for PvP environments because they thrive off the toxicity that setting fosters.

Almost sounds like a Loa of Toxicity.

No slime cat mount in LFR. The game was made by and for elitist jerks.

that was the name of Ion’s guild in WoLK. That’s how he got his job in the first place. Blizzard went to him and asked him how to make WoW a competitor in the Esports Market. And look at how WoW has turned out

No wonder it’s been so terrible these last couple years

It was the go-to place for theory crafting. The bannings were documented in a rather hilarious way. That said it had a big dudebro vibe going on.

I still <3 Alamo.
