Well yeah, but an extra FU on the way out was a nice touch even if unintentional.

Now that I finally have a computer again I can post my escapades in Hearthstone Alterac Valley before the next expansion comes out.

December 27th I captured Thrall in Alterac Valley:

And then captured Drekā€™Thar that same day:

By February 1st I completed the Alterac Valley Reward Track:

And though the Alliance victory had been declared in January, we finally claimed Alterac Valley on February 15th:

Gods are not all theyā€™re cracked up to be in WoW.

It might be a downgrade.

I love that movie, itā€™s one of my favorites. Knowing what happens in it makes that clip better lol.

I hate to say it but I was wrong about Korthia. Why people hated this zone is beyond me.

The biggest problem is movement in the zone, at least for me. I cannot tell you how many times I see ā€œNo Path Availableā€ when trying to jump around as a Venthyr Veng DH.

  1. No flying
  2. Stupid jumping puzzles
  3. No paths most of the time for leap, door of shadows etc
  4. Too many enemies in tight areas.
  5. Had to use a slow taxi to get to the bottom area of zone
  6. Those damn rooting plants in the rift phase
  7. It was in the maw (lorewise)
  8. The rep grinds were annoying
  9. Too many anima and research that quickly filled up bag slots.

I donā€™t know if they added it later or I just never noticed it before, but they added a hook spot to get to the bottom part of the zone.

I believe they added it in at some point after chapter 4 (The final sigil) was made available. But even then, one hit of an enemy (one is literally right next to it on both ends) and you stopped the cast.

What I donā€™t get is this.

In legion players provided feedback about how annoying the artifact power items were filling up bags (due to having multiple artifact weapons with their own AP bars). So in BFA azerite went right into the Heart of Azeroth, which we only got 1 of per character. But then in Shadowlands blizzard returned to the ā€œX item fills up bags for no reasonā€. Like Anima was already a currency. Why not just give us ONE item if you must that passively puts our anima into it. Then we dunk the anima from that item into the big anima collection tank in our covenant halls.

Blizzard CAN do it. But they love pissing the players off with stuff like this.

These are the things that bugged me the most. That island full of mobs, also. Agro one thing and the whole island charges.

What jumping puzzles?

Iā€™m using the datamined quests as an excuse to continue to avoid current content.

Gotta level up my blood elf and my dark iron (warrior), after all.

Iā€™ll come back in 4 years to hoover up mounts, probably. My big problem is that the stupid PvP gearing system has a lot of 60s grinding honor in the 50-59 bracket so they donā€™t face the already-geared Godzillas of the 60s bracket. But it makes for interesting fights anyway.

Iā€™ll never get what was wrong with the BC system. There was just the one currency and you earned it from even lost rated matches. So while it wouldā€™ve been arduous it was technically possible to fail your way to a full tier set.

That 1500 rating line in the sand makes it much less fun imho. SL was better than BFA at least as you could just buy stuff and not have to wait on the mystery box to dissapoint you again on Tuesday. But that arbitrary rating system makes me much less interested in experimenting or playing games with randos just for fun.

Because if Iā€™m close to being able to afford something I want Iā€™m not going to chance it. And instead of just playing a game now Iā€™m watching videos about the meta and looking at stats and dear God when did this turn into a sport.

Theyā€™re just really weird about giving you the run around with gearing. By the end of BC I had a Rogue, Mage and Hunter at max level all with varying levels of tier sets. Because once I was done with one toon for the season Iā€™d move on to the next.

The classes are fun. Itā€™s a lot of fun to master them. Especially in PvP where thereā€™s just some stuff that requires a honed skill to pull off properly. I donā€™t understand why the game seems hostile to the idea of me gearing a character then moving on.

If Torghast and the Maw werenā€™t such dreary slogs Iā€™d probably have kept playing. I had every class at level 50 by the time the pandemic ended. And in BFA with the Horrific Visions I was able to get my Priest, DK and Lock all geared enough for competitive play, and had started working on my Rogue.

In SL I didnā€™t even wanna touch my other alts. The Covenants did not have much replay value and all the other chores involved just killed my interest.

A lot of people hated Horrific Visions but after I managed 4 mask runs on a S Priest everything else was a cakewalk. Especially considering there was a lot of trial and error when itā€™s hard to tell which purple particle effect is yours and which of the other 37 arenā€™t.

Iā€™m never sure how much of my largely positive view of MOP is rose colored glasses, but gearing was less annoying there. Somehow the stepwise upgrades make the hamster wheel more visible.

It helped that there was a crafted set to get some resil before going into battlegrounds that even had a set bonus.

I know mine of BC have to be. But I did like how you always got some PvP points. So it never felt like a waste of time.

In BFA season 2 was the only time I was super competitive as I needed that purple skeletal warehorse. And nobody told me you got way more points toward that for 3s so I crawled up to like 80% on 2s lol

Season 3 I had a run of bad luck that knocked me down to 1100 or so and I just didnā€™t feel like bothering anymore.

Plus while healing is hugely fun in BGs and WPvP in Arena it can get kinda dull. The most thrilling part is usually seeing if youā€™ll be able to go unbothered long enough for a biscuit break to get your mana back.

Yuuki Konnoā€™s condition in Sword Art Online has fascinated me.

Her condition is a Mycobacteria plus a Pneumonia Bacteria caught due to AIDS.

Considering her demise was heralded by feeling weak all a sudden while feeling no pain I would assume the Mycobacteria did her in not the Pneumonia Bacteria.

Mycobacterias can attack the Nervous System so Yuuki pretty much died of Dementia/Alzheimerā€™s. The best Sword Fighter in Alfheim Online was done in by her brain being eaten.
