It’s -28 here the last few weeks. Now you understand my struggle.
-16 is a beautiful warm day! Light jacket weather.
If you could only see the layers I have to wear just to go outside. I had to pump gas the other day barehanded and I thought I was gonna die.
The reason why I’m so angry us because I have so much spite from being unable to just curl up and die of frostbite I have to take it out somewhere…I thrive on spite and the determined will to survive just like my ancestors.
Remember pants. No matter how you insulate the top, the back of the knees will still freeze.
And thick socks… Double-layered mittens…
How do people walk without earflaps in the cold? Ears will get cold nafig, there will be otitis media.
That is -18 degrees in Freedom Units.

How do people survive that?? How?!? And before you come in here and brag Sledge, we all know you are a dwarf and dwarves are capable of withstanding temperatures no human can withstand.
My anger comes from the fact I will never and can never know how to dress appropriately for the weather. Today it is 3 degrees. Tomorrow it’ll be 40. Thursday it’ll be almost 60!! Then Saturday? Back to freezing.
I am always angry because the weather is literally trolling me IRL.
So light jacket weather (3), bikini weather (40) and Summer (60)?
Anything over 72 is hot as hell and a nope for me.
In all fairness what we suffer through in cold the southern US suffers in heat. Shoes melting on the ashpalt at 110. Um no that sounds like death, I’ll keep the cold.
At least with tye cold as your skin freezes you loose the ability to feel pain.
No, see, I live in human territory, not Lab Escaped Human-Polar Bear Hybrid territory. Our definition of these temps is more akin to (3) Triple jacket, stay moving to avoid freezing to the ground, (40) Single jacket with gloves, going outside is not insane, and (60) long sleeved shirt, shorts indoors. 72 Freedom Degrees is definitely shorts weather, and we are getting close to outdoor activities weather (80+ Freedom Degrees).
110 is insane hot though. We get a few days of it here each year. It’s not quite “shoe melting”, but being on the coast it is definitely “every breath feels like I’m swallowing the ocean” humidity.
But I will take the heat over the cold any day. There’s no snow when it’s hot!! The cold is like “hey, let’s double-down on your misery. Not only can you not feel your lungs, but we also made the ground slippery!! And we came up with this delightful substance that when you step in it will slide up your pants leg and give you bonus cold on your calves!!”
Snow is like Blizzard’s idea of fun and engaging gameplay for the cold.

How many underpants do you wear?
When the ice storm hit Texas last year I remember a bunch of Canadians sharing info on how to conserve heat and create “hot rooms” i’ve experienced many power outages in the dead of winter. I have some life saving tips.
Layers is key. Only one pair of underwear… do you wear more?
I sometimes double up on socks but I have a lot of Merino wool socks that retain the heat.
I usually wear fleece lined leggings and snowpants. they seem to be warm enough, and I have a warm, long, down parka with coyote trim fur hood.
Thermal underwear, woolen jacket, down jacket.
I tried to wear two pairs of underpants, but either they need to be swapped, or the second pair needs braces. Might be worth switching to gaiters.
I have a neck gaiter, it helps keep my nose warm.
Sorel boots are the only boots that keeps my toes warm. Sorel boots + merano wool socks = nice and toasty.
I did it. I got my coffee. I cannot feel my hands at all, but I have coffee.
Ren, Shernish, Sledge, my lovely bestie polar bears, I do not know how you survive like this.
And why is it when I’m finally interested in playing WoW again, suddenly four hours of maintanence has to happen? Twink hunter needs her boots and ring to be perfect!!! I started a whole tweeter just to twit about this project, WTF?!?

Still sad there’s no more Book of Bobba Fett episodes. But we’re getting more Mando and some Obi-Wan love this year, so yay!
I have been an X Men and Star Wars fan since I was very young. I hear a lot of good things about Disney +, but I haven’t been interested in it enough, until I heard about the Obi Wan show. I am considering buying in when that show comes out.
Obi Wan is a cool Character, and the actors that played him were pretty great at it. He can be in low key small scale plot lines, and others where the control of star systems is on the line. The recent Kenobi book was ok. A fun read.
AHHH!! I did it!! I finally fixed my Steam client and can finally, finally, FINALLY have my games install on my second SSD!!
